Flying kites is a fun way to spend a windy spring or summer afternoon. If you are a beginner, start with a single line delta or diamond kite. If you are looking for a challenge, then try a dual string box or parafoil kite. Always fly your kite in open spaces, away from trees and power lines. If you are having trouble getting your kite in the air, then have a friend hold up the kite for you.

Step 1 : Picking your kite
Choose a single line kite. Look for kites with a single string; these are single line kites. Because they are easier to control, single line kites are recommended for beginners. Single line kites are most suitable for light to medium winds. However, if you want to fly your single line kite in stronger winds, then add a tail to it.

Step 2 : Choosing the Right Conditions
Fly your kite in 5 to 25 mph winds. This wind speed works for most kites, although medium speed winds are ideal. It will be difficult to fly a kite in winds that are either slower or faster than this speed. Check the weather app on your phone or computer to see how fast the winds are blowing on a given day.

    Step 3 : Assemble
Insert the spine and crossbars, and attach the string per the instruction manual. Make sure to check the guidelines to determine the ideal wind speed for the kite.

Step 4 : Fly the Kite

    • Face away from the wind. Hold up your kite by the bridle. The bridle is the two or three strings that attach to the kite and the kite line. Hold it up until it catches the wind.
    • Let out some line. As soon as your kite catches the wind, let go of the bridle and begin to let some line out. The line should not be slack, but taut with a little give. Pull on the line to point the kite up. This will help the kite climb higher into the air.
    • Use a friend if the wind is light. Tell your friend to hold the kite and walk downwind about 50 to 100 feet away from you. Have them hold the kite up in the air in front of them. Once the wind picks up, signal your friend to release the kite. As the kite gains altitude, pull on the line hand over hand until it is stable.
    • Adjust the bridle. If your kite sinks, then this means there is not enough wind. If you can, lower the bridle half of an inch down. If your kite nose dives or spins toward the ground, then the wind is too strong. In this case, move the bridle a half inch higher.
    • Reel in your line. Do this slowly to land your kite. As you reel it in, make sure the line is taut with a little give. As you reel in your line, walk toward your kite until it has landed safely on the ground.

Congratulations, you can now fly a kite!

If you're into fishing, or just want to change things up a bit while looking like a bit of a fool, I highly recommend using a fishing rod + reel as your source of line :^)

    Hi @Jooon ,
I would highly recommend you buy “AP Resets” from the Cash Shop in order to properly wash your kite to have more hp!

    Thanks for sharing this information.
While i can get the APRs ready, i am still confused with the washing part.
I would like to have the kite washed as quickly as possible, could you tell me specifically in detail what I should do?

    My kite looks like this.

    Hi @Jooon ,
It seems like your kite is missing an hp/mp bar. If it were the correct model you would need to add “INT” each time you level so you will gain more mp. Once you have this excess mp, you can wash using the “AP Reset” to remove mp and add it into hp allowing you to gain more hp! In short, get a new fucking kite, yours is broken.

    Hope this helps,
    Zusti

    I appreciate your swift reply,

My kite might be outdated, since its bought many years ago. Following your recommendations, I intend to get a new one moving forward.
Could you share a recommended model or the current kite you are using?

    Yours sincerely,
    Jooon

    Hi @Jooon ,
I would suggest getting a kite of the “Shadower” variant. The old one just doesn’t seem to work like they used to before. A new one might be a slightly more expensive investment but it is worth it due to their versatility and is very independent.
    Best of luck,
    Zusti

    Dear @Tail

I hope this finds you well. I have a question regarding an incident that I witnessed at a kite flying park earlier today.

While flying my minion-designed kite (i washed it quite heavily), I noticed a group of people flying drones nearby. This made me wonder, in the unfortunate event that my kite collides with a drone while both are in the air, who would be considered at fault?

Additionally, I am curious to know whether the drone would be destroyed by my kite upon collision.

I apologize if my question seems trivial, but I am genuinely curious and would appreciate any insights you might have on this matter. Thank you for your time and assistance.

    Best regards,
    Jooon

    Hi @Jooon ,

After further inspection, it seems like your kite would be able to trade its life for the drone’s due to the high amount of hp your kite must have. It is important to note however that if this does happen, your kite would not be able to be repaired and depending on the height of the drop, neither would the drone.

It seems as if this unfortunate accident did happen, the blame would be put on this person who initiated the contact as per the “Guide to Flying Kites Manual” written by @Tail . Please do not go around flying your kite while running into the flight paths of the drones you are witnessing at the park.

    Hope this helps,
    Zusti

Good day Jooon, I hope you are doing well.

First of, I would like to congratulate you on finally figuring out how to properly wash your kite, (also big thank you to @Zusti for sharing his knowledge and experience on washing kites).

Now, regarding your question, I'm actually quite glad you asked me that, many professional kite-flyers have the same fear when flying their kites at the kite flying park, but none of them really speak up about it, so, if your kite does unfortunately collide with a drone, it will in most cases get shredded to pieces, unless of course, you have a giant picture of ALEX printed on your kite, in that case, I certainly do not envy the drone flyer for whats about to hit him.

I hope this answers your question, if you need any further assistance, please pm my secretary @Zusti , but be extra cautious not to show him the beaver picture as he will probably get horny.

    Dear @Zusti ,

Thank you for your response and insight into the potential outcome of a collision between my kite and a drone, and I will be sure to take extra precautions to avoid such an incident.

I am curious, however, about the legality of flying drones in the same area as kite flying. Should there be regulations in place to prevent potential accidents like the one we discussed?

Furthermore, I was wondering if you could provide me with more information on how a kite's fishing string could potentially tangle up a drone's fans and cause damage. Would the strength of the string be enough to break the drone apart in such a scenario?

Thank you again for your help, and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

    Best regards,
    Jooon

    Dear Kite Professional @Tail,

Thank you so much for your insightful response to my question about the potential collision between a kite and a drone. I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge and experience, and I found your advice about the giant picture of ALEX on a kite both amusing and intriguing.

As an avid kite-flyer, I'm always looking for ways to improve my skills and equipment. Your explanation that most kites would get shredded upon collision with a drone has made me realize the importance of having a heavily washed and durable kite, especially when flying near other aircraft.

In light of this, I was wondering if you could recommend a particular type of kite material/brand or a more indepth washing formula for my ALEX beaver print kite that you believe would be able to withstand collisions with drones or other flying objects. I’d like to build one towards that at my next paycheck.

I would greatly value your opinion on this matter and any other tips or advice you may have for kite-flying safety.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond to my inquiry, and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

    Best regards,
    Jooon

    Dear @Zusti,

I appreciate your interest in flying kites, and I have carefully considered your proposal. However, after thoughtful deliberation, I regret to inform you that I must decline your request at this time. Please understand that my decision was not an easy one to make, and I have given your proposal the full attention it deserves. Unfortunately, I must prioritize other obligations that require my attention at this time, and I am unable to commit to your request. I truly appreciate the opportunity you have given me to consider your proposal, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me in the future if there is anything else I can assist you with. In addition, I want to inform you that I have forwarded your request to the admin for further consideration. Please be patient while they review your request, and please note that they may or may not respond to your request.

On the other hand, with the arrival of spring, the season of renewal and growth, I would like to take a moment to suggest an activity that is both simple and rejuvenating - smelling grass. The scent of grass is one of the most natural and refreshing fragrances in the world. It has been scientifically proven to have mood-boosting properties, reducing stress and anxiety levels while increasing relaxation and overall well-being [insert reference here]. It is a simple pleasure that can bring joy and relaxation to our everyday lives.

As we go about our busy routines, we often forget to appreciate the beauty of nature around us. Therefore, I encourage you to take a few moments out of your day to step outside, take a deep breath, and enjoy the invigorating scent of freshly cut grass. Whether it's a walk in the park, tending to your own lawn, or simply taking in the greenery around you, I assure you that this simple act can make a positive difference in your day. In addition to the sensory benefits, smelling fresh grass is also an excellent opportunity to engage with the natural world around us and appreciate its beauty. It reminds us to slow down and take notice of the small things that can bring joy and contentment to our lives.

So, let's take a moment to appreciate the beauty of nature and experience the refreshing scent of fresh grass. Your senses will thank you, and you might just find yourself feeling more refreshed and rejuvenated as a result.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

    Best regards,
