Anyone have any tips/guestimates on what it would take to scroll a 25 attack shield? Would it be worth it to just go for a 30 attack after you got 5-6'30s to work in the first place?

    5 30s 5 60-70s for a 25 attack

Try and get 5 in a row to work and sell off the duds. You'll need a lot of scrolls and almost as much Maple Shields, but you should only have to spend about 5b to make it.

    After 61 30% and 14 10% I am left with

    1 9 att 6 str 7 slot shield
    7 3 att 2 str 9 slot shields
    3 3 att 2 str 8 slot shield
    1 6 att 4 str 7 slot shield

    Also only 1 10% worked :(

I am scrolling a bunch of shield with 1 30% and saving the ones that work, then go back and toss a 30% on it after I fail 3-5 30%s on clean shields. Technically I guess I have a 30% of success each time but I feel like if I fail 3-5 I have a better chance of passing my next one so I scroll this way.

Anyone know what the p/c's are on the shields that I have so far in case I need to sell them

    3 shields to pass 1 30%.
You scroll 3 shields, statistically one of them passes.
Estimated cost 65m (3 30%s at 20m ea + 3 shields @ 1m ea). I'm being generous on this one, which makes each of the following estimates generous.

    11 shields to pass 2
    You scroll 11 shields once. Statistically 3.3 of them pass. You scroll those shields again, 1 of them passes. Estimated cost (11 30%s + 11 shields + 3 30%s = ) 291m

    37 shields to pass 3
You scroll 37 shields once, 11 pass. From here, it's the previous step all over.
    Estimated cost (37 30%s + 37 shields + 11 30%s + 3 30%s = ) 1.057b

    124 shields to pass 4
You scroll 124 shields once. 37 pass. Repeat the above step.
    Estimated Cost (124 30s + 124 shields + 37 30's + 11 30's + 3 30's = ) 3.624b

    414 shields to pass 5
You scroll 414 shields once. 124 pass. Repeat the above steps.
    Estimated Cost (414 30s + 414 shields + 124 30's + 37 30's + 11 30's + 3 30's = ) 12.194b

So it's statistically worth it to pass 4 30s and ws 10% the 5th slot, by quite a large margin. These prices are, of course ignoring the fact that you buying up 200+ shield 30%'s to do this is going to change the market price of them. You could expect the actual price to be a bit higher, unless you bought over a long period of time.

If I'm not generous with the first number, and require 4 attempts there, it makes the following numbers 14 (rather than 11), 47 (rather than 37), 157 (rather than 124) and 524 (rather than 414).

The estimated cost of a 5 attack is not making me happy :(

Did you perfect a weapon yet? If not, that's more efficient. Perfecting a shield will only get you +10 att or so, whereas a perfect weapon can easily get you 15-25 att depending on your current weapon with less slots.

I had a feeling 5 straight 30s seemed too cheap.

This. If you can find a perfect clean weapon for your class, it's MUCH more efficient to go after that, as 30% weapon scrolls are much more effective than 30% shield scrolls relative to their 60%s.

Well I guess if I do happen to find a perfect sparta/carabella I will buy it and scroll it as well, but I find that finding enough of those to scroll one would to take too much time and frankly im after a shield specifically.

but well now everyone spread the world that I will buy anyones maple shields and 10, 30% scrolls, all day, any day, forever.

    yay....(cough)

There's a perfect (112 atk) carabella for sale right now. C/o is 5 white scrolls I think. @maggles has it for sale.

And that's worth white scroll & 10%'ing from the beginning, in case you were curious. The statistical costs of 30%'ing it even once are astronomical.

Or you could say that waiting for another 112 clean Dragon Carabella could take as long as getting enough money to perfect two weapons (at least that's how I'm going to justify it if I ever have the craving to buy it).
