Hello I am returning from a long hiatus, hopefully by next weekend. I am in the process of finding a laptop that will be able to run MapleRoyals at a cost-efficient price. I have also lost access to my forum account and game accounts as I can't remember the information, but that is an issue that can be remedied upon successful acquisition of an adequate device to properly run the client. I would be elated for the possibility to reconnect with some past friends, as well as potential new friends. Hope to see everyone soon
Welcome back Jason I think realistically anything can work for Royals, but if you plan on going balls to the wall with multiclienting you could run into some slight issues. Overall though nothing's really changed aside from Windows 11 being introduced. I personally never tried Windows 11 but I find some players report it's a mixed bag, sometimes it causes problems sometimes it doesn't, and afaik we haven't really looked at Windows 11 yet from a Staff's standpoint to determine what's causing the issue(s) and I'm not sure when we'll get around to that, so for that reason I'd recommend trying to stick with Windows 10 for now! When you do manage to get in game and if you notice you're dc'ing a lot try using IMG files instead of WZ. Sometimes WZ files are better but for 90% of people they say IMG is better (myself included) so I'd just mess around with that a bit if that ever happens to ya. As for recovering your account information please head on over here, my dude: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/lost-email-or-username.154999/ (Slight note, since you're returning we have had some credential stuffing attacks where hackers were breaching inactive accounts, you can read more about that here: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/account-security-a-reminder.207236/)
Thank you for the reply! Does the processor matter? I looked on the official maplestory site and they say I need at least 3ghz, but I'm not sure if royals I could run on like a 2.1-2.5. As for the security breech, oh no I pray my account remained untouched, but if someone did gain access to it, it's nothing I couldn't come back from
As far as I know the type of processor doesn't matter, we use v83 which came out in about idk 2005-2008 so I guess anything really above that is good. However if you plan on multi-clienting with lets say I don't know, 3-4+ Mages running those clients simultaneously could cause some huge lag/clients randomly closing (my pc can go up to about 8-9 but when I get to 10 I start stuttering and my other clients will start to randomly close) Macs are still hit and miss with Parallels some users have no issues, whereas others report issues.
Oh okay, I didn't realize v83 came out so long ago, I'm getting old I'm thinking I'm just gonna try to buy a cheap refurbished laptop and see where that gets me. Thank you for your help!
