Loot search command

I seen it on other servers that have a command that let you search drops. Like you type in the command follow by the name of the item and it will tell you the names of the mobs that drop them. I say this because even with bbb.hidden-street.net its still pretty off from v62 and speically things like skill books and other stuff thats 100% off. Idk how hard it would be to do but if possible that would be great.

 

Curious, does it say these things in plain text? ie you type ~mobdrops Blue Potion and it returns Green Mushroom, Red Snail, etc.? Or do you have to type in item IDs?

 

I've personally seen servers do both. Of course, if this server adds its own custom items, it'll have to be search by plain text for this to work.

Both, and you don't even need to type in full name, if you type in partial it either give you list of possible name or if there only one possible word it just jump to that word. The sever I know has command @whodrops follow by item so it be
@whodrops blue potion then says
Blue potion
Mob1
Mob2
Mob3
Total 3 monster drops this.

Ofc I never figure out how to search for scrolls lol

 

There is a website. I am not sure if I can post a link so google bbb hidden street. BBB stands for Before Big Bang. Its pretty accurate.

 

We know but that site is very accurate for v83, there is still pretty big difference between v62 and v83 so its good but still can be off.

Honestly, while an interesting idea we have a lot more pressing matters that need to be worked on before we can take on new projects like this. Maybe we can revisit this topic in the future, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Thanks for your suggestion, though!

Besides, someone on the server has to know where what you're looking for is dropped, right? Try asking around!

 

I remember asking Matt about a whodrops command when the server first opened -- this is something he is very opposed to.

 

That I do agree but just a thought be nice. Be nice if there is a v62 data base lol maybe I can find the source and make one hmmm that might be good =X
