Don't know if anyone ever discussed about this but I was thinking of playing again as I missed exploring around the old maps. But before I install the game, I'm having some technical concerns. Would mapleroyals degrade or affect your pc to get slow down? Or should I say, has anyone ever got their pc slowed after playing maple royals. I already saw many people asking about virus concerns (which is false positive) so I'm not really worried much about virus. But now I have a new concerns that it would affect my pc's performance as I'm not using my pc for pure gaming purpose.
Did you read anything about Royals degrading or slowing down your PC? If so, could you link them here?
I already stated that "Don't know if anyone ever discussed about this" so no I haven't. That's why I got curious and asking here.
There is one I found but this person is concerned with maple royals being virus which I already replied to them by saying it's a false positive and should be safe. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/mic...tac-b-ml-after-installing-mapleroyals.203848/
No, I never experienced any slowdown of my pc due to Royals. As far as I know, Royals doesn't have any background processes that run when the game is supposed to be closed. The only time I experience slowdown is if I'm running 5+ clients on my laptop simultaneously. My desktop can handle many more though. So I think you have nothing to worry about!
Cause games are not supposed to do that, so I am unsure how to convince you that Royals does not degrade/slow down PC
If that's the case I appreciate your answers and efforts. I just have a weird habit of being anxious and get nervous over some games that could slow down your pc or something. Don't know if you ever heard of it but I've seen some games that uses anti-cheat called 'XIGNCODE' and some people says that makes the game run poorly or something and brought me concerns that what if something unknown that I got from installing game could affect my pc.
Ah, valid concern and I understand. For better or worse, Royals doesn't have an anti-cheat/autoban system (that I know of). So no chance of an intrusive anti-cheat software. Cheaters still get banned manually though, as you can probably see in Ban Appeals.
We do have a custom anti-cheat built into the client which scans the game memory for changes frequently. This does increase CPU usage but the amount is essentially negligible on any semi modern PC. We do not use any third party external anti-cheat software running separately from the game such as XIGNCODE.
