Hello there, I play a Corsair, and while I really love the class, I've been becoming increasingly frustrated with the unavailability of weapons. Last night, it took three hours of farming with an Arch Mage who mostly 1 hits at Nest Golems to get a single Concerto. Furthermore, there are only two locations where Concertos can be farmed; Nest Golems and Dark Cornians, neither of which have abundant spawns. Clean concertos of any attack currently have a market price of 15mil. I can't think of any weapon which has a comparable price point for even the worst of the weapons, however, there might be one, so please let me know! The reason I thought this was a good time to bring this up is because of the large discussion regarding perfect items. I'm currently trying to find a perfect Concerto, but at the rate of 1 gun per 3 hours, it doesn't seem likely. This is why I thought it was unfair to say who put the most effort in to their items. I might be more likely to use White Scrolls on a 3 away from perfect Concerto, simply because it might take months and months to even find a perfect. I think the availability problem really disadvantages certain classes, especially because of the recent buffs to some weapons. I know many other Corsairs who are frustrated trying to find weapons as well. I want to point out, other classes may be affected by similar problems that I'm not aware of. So feel free to add them to this post! My two solutions to this problem would be to either increase the drop rate of Concertos at their current locations, or perhaps make them a drop of a more easily farmable mob. I'll +1 this, as Evan (Weezing) and I tested this a while ago by both farming for 2 hours on different channels, we got to a total of 3 concertos farmed in effectively 4 hours time. Where Weezing was 1 hitting, and I was 2 hitting. At that rate farming a perfect certo is about 10x harder than a perfect red craven. We've asked for the droprates yesterday and even though they were higher than cravens, due to the maps / mobs that have to be killed to obtain concertos it's still way slower.
Concerto is their level 100 weapon just like ours is a craven. You would be comparing a dragon revolver to a dragon sleeve in this case.
I hope your post is not serious why do you need a perfect gun you can settle for 1-2 attack less then. 13 luk is ~1.5 attack
I think he is just trying to point out that every job has its disadvantages and advantages, when it comes to gear. Corsairs can craft their endgame weapon, while Night Lords have to gacha for it. Cravens might be a common drop because of ulu2, and concertos are not because of newts.
I don't know why you're at Nest Golems when you want to get a specific weapon when Dark Cornians have better spawn. You're limiting yourself to like 3 Nest Golems each rotation whereas you can get nearly double with Dark Cornians. Not saying that Concertos don't need another monster that drops that. They absolutely need to, but you guys are attacking the situation in a sub optimal way.
Dark Cornians do have a higher spawnrate but are scattered all across the map mixed with other mobs. For nest golems you don't have to move but you are limited to 3 kills at a time. Either way both are really poor farmable mobs
There's a map with Green and Dark Cornians that have strictly Dark Cornians spawning on top with a rate of ~6-7 per rotation.
No, you miss the point /again/. The amount of time you have to spend moving around the cornian map to make sure everything keeps spawning properly just makes it time inefficient. Even if it has a few mobs more per rotation, it's not /much/ faster than nests.
Not really. You should try it. Map spawn is relatively consistent despite a bunch of mobs spawned on the bottom.
Yeah, Plenty I actually did realize that today when I farmed there and got one concerto in an hour. However, I still know many stories of going 1 hour plus there and receiving no concertos. That is definitely a good point though and fair criticism of what I said. Egonic- Like Sila said, I'm trying to compare relative to the obtainability of other level 100 weapons. Also- we need concertos in order to craft revolvers as well. And, like I said about the market value of 15mil per weapon too. I definitely am not trying to imply Corsairs have it worse than all others classes, but I do feel that this is an issue worth talking about.
I have tried it for at least 7 hours on a row.. the results weren't any higher than at nest golems and both had really bad results.
You guys both have fair points, but for Corsairs, you have two uses for Concertos. You can either scroll them or, if it turns out bad, you can gamble they used gun on a revolver. NLs don't have that luxury and most of the NLs that think long term will not settle for a Green Dragon Sleeve. You are one unlucky duck.
You can craft them you can gach them. I'm just pointing out if you would buff one class for easier weapons than if anything NL's should be able to craft their end game weapon.
we are discussing /concertos/ here. guns that only /drop/ from these 2 mobs or if lucky from a boss run / gacha. we are not discussing dragon revolvers vs sleeves.. why do you keep bringing up items that have nothing to do with it. Yes a sleeve is gacha only, but most of the NL's perfected a craven. Corsairs are having more trouble getting a perfect clean concerto to scroll because of the droprate, that is the point of this entire thread.
