Hi all, I was having quite an easy time doing KPQ with people, on the other hand, LPQ is absolutely abandoned... for the last 4 days I've been trying to look for a party for LPQ and it was impossible. Why is that? Also, if that is the case, if any admin sees this, maybe you could think of some kind of an incentive for people to play it?
There are some differences between these 2 Kpq only need 4 ppl to run, lpq need 6 Kpq is low lvl (21+) , lpq is 35+ Kpq at vic island, lpq at ludi Kpq is faster than lpq Lpq require mage and thief, range to do, kpq dont U should join a guild and and friend with ppl at ur lvl and try inv them to do with u or go do cpq1
Feel free to submit ideas that you feel would solve the problems of gathering LPQ members https://royals.ms/forum/forums/feedback.3/create-thread
Another thing is many people join only for Olaf, so they dissolve the party immediately after a single run. I've seen some people smega specifically looking for glasses runs (as in they intend to do multiple runs)... quite uncommon. Here's hoping the promised token revamp rejuvenates this and other PQs.
Edit: quick edit, I was too slow to post this LOL thank you for the feedback! (tabbed out for an hour, came back and realized I didn't click post oops) I've been around for a long time now, and all of the PQs were full of people looking to do it back then roughly in 2014-2016 when the Server was still relatively new and shiny. I noticed (as a player) back then many people were still working towards their goals so we had less leeching and actual gameplay. I remember my Bishop (priest at the time) would join in on HS parties at wolf spiders and grinding together was a huge thing too. My old group of friends we had about 5-6 of us and we had a blast progressing and racing each other to our goals (bossing, selling leech because it was new at the time, whatever your goals are/were.) Unfortunately I think it's just one of the issues that happens when you have a game running for 10 years. Spoiler: older games that suffer the same fate I've seen the pattern in WoW as well, and I actually took a long break from WoW (2+ years) came back to everyone running regular dungeons like they're M+ ones even super low level dungeon brackets... I've seen people get kicked for not being able to keep up when they're trying to learn how to play the game and it's a lot more aggressive now than what it used to be back in Legion/Battle for Azeroth expansion and previous ones. GMS has so many mechanics it's impossible to know wtf to do now LOL I get overwhelmed every time I want to check it out and I've played it for maybe ~50 hours but I still have zero progression to show for it because I was working on Skill Link classes I didn't even get to Legion yet lmao People just favor min/maxing now. Back then everything was new and exciting, you could explore and have fun! But by the time you're working on your 8th character, or something, you just want to get out of low level hell and straight into 135+ for bossing. I personally enjoying questing my way through the game on a low level character because if I finish enough quests for the Quest Specialist medal I'm usually roughly between level 85-110 depending on if there's any events happening (Gold Richie event gets me to 110 ish) The older we get the less time we have to play the game the way it was intended-- that's why old school GMS only lasted for roughly ~3-4 years, in my opinion. The older players don't really want to waste time organizing a PQ unless they absolutely need to Olaf quest and the newer players are unable to find enough people interested in doing 3 or more PQs in a row because most people leave after 1-3. Plus newer players who don't have a level 50+ character yet can't even smega to try to find players to run any PQs. We've made numerous changes over the last couple of years alone to the game in general (HP washing optional, f2p gachapon, high level grinding party places, easier to obtain daily NX if you have level 150+ characters to kill daily solo bosses (ludi, ellin, rose garden, etc) but the PQ ones we've made always fall a little a bit short or they lose interest in after a month or so. Before we had 4th job skills locked out of lower level PQs, we had a meta where people would only rush LPQ stages 1-3 with a low level Bishop and that's how they levelled up their other characters. We've had a similar meta too in KPQ where it was common to have a low level Bishop and they would leech on the Ligators in stage 1 until the time ran out because you made so much EXP compared to anywhere else back then. It's also why 4th job skills are locked out completely of low level PQ places entirely. It was essentially a faster way to level up multiple characters at once instead of leeching in the usual spots for that level. Spoiler: OPQ op If you are very good at OPQ and do the bonus missions you can level up pretty fast, the bonus mission EXP is insane and it's a shame most people don't do that anymore. I still level up some characters from time to time via OPQ but I usually have to mule the rest because nobody ever wants to do it, but I swear I level a tiny bit faster doing OPQ between 60-65 than doing muddy banks 2 leech and it takes my duo partner and I roughly ~20-25min to complete OPQ ourselves. To put it bluntly, people would rather leech, quest, or grind elsewhere than do PQs. The process of recruiting enough people alone can be daunting, given the limitations with smegas and being a newer player, but also because most MMOs nowadays focus on solo gameplay and GMS was essentially an early 2000s social simulator. The hinderance we had to add to smegas (level 50+ requirement) was due to hackers spamming smega messages to either shill their services, or generally annoy people by spamming slurs which didn't help the issue(s) because these PQs are usually below level 50 and you're unable to smega for anyone else who might be interested in doing them. I also find most people stick around for 1-3 PQs then someone leaves, or multiple people leave and sometimes it can take multiple smegas to get 1 party going so that kind of kills the mood as well for me at least. We have tried buffing PQs in the past (possibly the future too! ) and even then with that initial spark its still barely enough to keep people engaged. It's a delicate balance because there's a fine line between "fun and engaging" versus "this spot gives more exp/hr if I do 1-3 stages and quit versus leeching at mobs nearby" that we have to keep in mind, among other things as well. If you have any ideas or suggestions on how to cross this delicate line, feel free to submit a feedback request!
I honestly believe that CPQ1 and CPQ2 ruined the gameplay in many ways.. I don't play much.. i'm taking a 6-12 months break again since i mostly play during holidays.. but i hope you can find more LPQ members you should also join royals discord! good luck!
Interesting, I was able to find pts to do LPQ. I am a pretty chill player, just wait there while doing other things, there will be pt there sometimes.
Would a possible solution to this be to add a built in smega system to a PQ? For example, if I wanted to LPQ I could go to the stop sign NPC and in its options there could be an option to broadcast that you're looking for a party. Example: "LootGremlin on Ch1 is looking for assistance for LPQ!" Example 2 for RnJPQ: "LootGremlin on Ch1 is looking for assistance for MPQ [on Romeo side]!" Would something like that be possible? Maybe also including a Cooldown timer to prevent spamming?
I can give a few reasons for me: - Skill restrictions added to low level (puzzle) pqs killed the replayability of those pqs. Another player made a great comment on this: - Excessive amount of smegas needed to organize a party and to keep running multiple pqs - Low level players have to travel all the way to Ludibrium just to do LPQ whereas CPQ is available in Victoria/Orbis/Ludi/etc. Kerning City is a great hub area for low level players (between people trying to do Kpq/Cpq and high levels chatting in the area giving away free gear/guild inviting) whereas there's none for Ludibrium - Stage 8 of LPQ is so annoying that it turns me off from the PQ even if the party is competent due to too many combinations. I actually proposed removing a box in other server and was met with disgust even though a lot of players I've talked to don't like this stage either. My proposal I wrote: Spoiler: Stage 8 idea Currently, the PQ requires your 5 teammates to do potentially up to 126 combinations to proceed through this stage. This causes LPQ runs to vary greatly in duration and, in my opinion, causes excess fatigue due to the mental strain of attempting many failing combinations if the party is just unlucky due to RNG. I wanted to propose a change to LPQ's Stage 8: Remove Box #9 from the Stage. This will reduce the needed combinations for completion from 126 -> 56, cutting the time spent on this stage in half (or more). This will allow more consistency in LPQ runs and in turn make players in the PQ level range be more willing to try out the PQ or stay longer. Let me list the benefits and detriments to this idea: + Average LPQ times are reduced and now more consistent + Reduced stress on Teams when completing this stage + Allows for more LPQs to be done/ More willingness on players to participate + Higher exp curve due to reduced LPQ duration and higher # of runs performed + Stage still functions similarly to the OG version + Obtaining Glasses in a shorter amount of playtime - Developer resources used to make this happen - Interferes with Nostalgia of performing near 100+ combinations and being in this stage for a long time - Players in this PQ level range will level up faster - Obtain glasses too quickly
