With the addition of new commands that make the game much easier I have to say it was a great quality of life change now that I can use /pi /pe mapowner and servertime was always a pretty long type-out. If not too difficult to implement, would we be able to assign these two commands to both the ones listed above? ~servertime & ~st to show us the servertime ~mapowner & ~mo to show us the mapowner
Nice idea Can we have the ~setting smegaphones enableall ~setting smegaphones disableall being short too? I use them quite frequently but now lazy to turn on when smeg is off How about ~smeon ~smeoff Or ~son ~soff
I feel like there just needs to be a general list of commands gathered by everyone to shorten. That way Staff doesn't have to do a few each patch but instead can knock most (if not all) of them in one go.
The point of implementing /pi /pl was to make squads easier to toggle and manage during harder raids wasn't it? I don't see why this change is needed where it's mostly used in less demanding scenarios, but I guess it depends how easy an addition this is and how much the devs have on their plate
Yeah I’d only want this change to be accepted if it takes very little time. If it’ll require a lot of dev resources, don’t bother with it. I think writing them out is pretty tedious and it looks like it is possible with the addition of /pi and /pe Not a major necessary change. If it is as simple as flipping a switch, I’d be nice to have, that’s about it.
I often forget some commands, like enabling and disabling smegaphones... I'd definitely be able to remember if they were short, instead of typing /? and squinting my eyes to read the wall of text for the command. More broadly, though, this list needs to be updated with the short commands that were implemented. Also, fix the alignment issues (put ~servertime on a new line). Additionally, I very much dislike the way ~setting criticals on/off, and ~setting megaphones enableall/disablegachapon/disableall currently are. They are unnecessarily verbose. What is the purpose of the 'setting'? Why aren't these toggles? Sure, ~setting megaphones enableall is a good command so that you can 100% guarantee that in one command you've enabled megaphones (for example if the server is quiet), but I don't think that is really a good tradeoff, or that the guarantee is necessary. I think a better implementation would be so make these toggles. For example, the player doesn't input on/off, instead they become toggles. I put short form commands here. ~crit if criticals are on, turn off. Send message 'Criticals have been disabled' If criticals are off, turn on. Send message 'Criticals have been enabled' ~mega if super megaphones are on, turn off. Send message 'Super megaphones have been disabled' if super megaphones are off, turn on. Send message 'Super megaphones have been enabled' For gachapon messages, either convert the command to ~mega [all, gach] (same functionality, but as a toggle now) or add a ~gach toggle. The former may be preferred. Maybe I'm in a minority here, and I know there is a strong developer sentiment that custom commands should be kept to a minimum as to not appear private serverish (this is my impression, I'm not speaking for anyone). But, we are, after all, a private server... I don't think we need to go wild with settings, but it's time we embrace it a little, don't you agree? Putting stuff like ~time and ~map type commands aside, it would be nice to have the criticals and megaphones at least as check boxes in the System Options, which would ultimately be the best design choice, in my opinion.
We've recently discussed this within staff and decided for the following changes: ~time as shortform of ~servertime ~map as shortform of ~mapowner game or system option to enable/disable megaphones game or system option to enable/disable criticals We will try to implement those changes in an upcoming patch. The priority is low so it might take a while until devs can get to it.
