Hi! I'm an extremely new player who found this server when looking to relive that old-school nostalgia of MapleStory. I've seen quite a few guides mention HP-washing and stuff, but I'm a bit overwhelmed by having to think about stuff like that from the get-go. Can I play casually and not worry about HP-washing, or will I be screwed later on if I don't consider it immediately?

Play your character and just have fun. By no means is it necessary and there are alternative ways to get hp expecially on your first character. Go have fun. The idea of hp washing is to get more hp for some end game bosses. If you can get some int equipment wear that when you level up or maybe add some base int 40~50 int early on so each time you lvl you get some extra MP. The idea is you use that extra mp and convert it to more hp later. You can get rid of that later in the game once you play more but it's not mandatory. No! No more need for HP-Washing since ~2020. Every guide made before that is very usefull, just not up to date for HP-Washing part. A new player on this server HP-Washing to meaningful amounts is incredibly expensive. It's likely faster to level up a Bishop yourself and to leech a new char up to level 135 then to save up 4b-8b meso. For us end-game players its just easier and those amounts of money become less of an issue. Play whatever the fuck you want, by the time your HP is going to matter you can afford leech and HP-Washing. There are many viable means through questing and gear (including medals and up to 3 pet equips to scroll). To gain enough HP to do almost all pre-end game bossing. Also, atm every class is viable. Play what you enjoy not what people think is meta. READ THE RULES and vote each day for 8k nx. You can sell APR or go full gambling addict at gacha. HP-Washing has a learning curve. There is also quite some RNG involved and by no means can you 'ruin' a character by not doing it perfectly. You can follow a guide, fully math it out. Or just do what most of us do. "Yeah, idk, I just got 200 base INT and spend whatever meso I had to waste on INT gear. Ill MP-Wash whenever I feel like it and reset my INT when I want to play this char'
Looks like u join the server to have a taste of nostalgia like killing some mushrooms and kpqs, back in 2008 4th job havent out yet iirc so u dont have to worry about washing. Just play what u like.
I searched for similar threads and couldn't really find anything? Only related to /how/ to do HP-washing. If it's a common question I apologize.
