A question I've had on my mind for a long time is whether the STR bandit or a LUK bandit was more viable into late game. I'm certain the STR bandit would naturally be tankier, and the LUK bandit would deal more damage but be squishy, no? If so, is the extra tankiness even worth it in the end? I'm sure it works differently on this server than others because of the meta changes.

There's like no guides online about building STR stat for bandit, but I'm curious what your take is.

This assumption is wrong - both will have the same HP. STR doesn't give you extra HP, which is why washing takes adding int

You are getting the idea wrong.

Str bandit means a bandit that uses gears that require LUK/DEX/STR
    For example:
[IMG] Gold Double Knife - LVL 100
    95 ATT

    [IMG]Dragon Kanzir - LVL 110
    100 ATT (7 Upgrade Slots)

    [IMG]Dragon Khanjar - LVL 120
    2 LUK / 15 ATT (7 Upgrade Slots)

Luk bandit uses gears that require LUK/DEX only
    For example:
    [IMG]Blood Dagger - LVL 100
    93 ATT (7 Upgrade Slots)

    [IMG]Dragon Creda - LVL 110
    98 ATT (7 Upgrade Slots)

    [IMG]Maple Thief Shield - LVL 64
    2 LUK (10 Upgrade Slots)

The main difference between STR vs. LUK gear is that STR gear naturally gives more attack.
The Dragon Kanzir is 2 extra ATT than the Dragon Creda on average

The Dragon Khanjar gives 15 ATT whereas the Maple Thief Shield gives none
With consideration of the godly system, not considering the Chaos Scroll:
    • The max possible stats for the Dragon Khanjar is 43 ATT / 8 LUK /14 STR
    • But the max possible stats for the Maple Thief Shield is only 30 ATT / 8 LUK / 20 STR
After scrolling, the Dragon Khanjar gives a total of 13 extra ATT

Therefore, in theory, a fully scrolled set of STR equips will give 15 more ATT (13+2) than a fully scrolled set of LUK equips

The most STR you ever need is 75, as the end-game STR bandit gear ONLY requires 75 STR
It's important to note that STR contributes very little to a bandit's Attack Range, whereas LUK is the main stat that increases a bandit's range

Therefore, the decision you need to make here is whether you need to sacrifice 75 LUK for 15 ATT, since 5 LUK is equal to approximately 1 ATT, either is OK
However there is a catch, every character begins with 4 STR, a Zhelm gives 15 STR on average, a HTP gives 22 STR on average, with 2 STR from an Adventurer Medal. These already give you 43 STR, which means you only need another 32 STR to reach 75, and in turn, receive the 15 ATT bonus. This is one reason why many people choose the STR bandit path

Keep in mind, the Dragon Khanjar already gives 15 ATT before scrolling, and Maple Thief Shield does not, this is another reason why many people choose the STR path, as it can be cheaper if you do not have enough funds.
However, a fully scrolled STR set is MORE expensive than a fully scrolled LUK Set, due to the fact that Dragon Kanzir & Dragon Khanjars are generally more difficult to obtain.

There are no HP differences between a STR/LUK bandit
A STR bandit is not tankier than a LUK bandit
