Update check failed: WinHttpSendRequest failed

    Installed the WZ installer, tried to run and got this error. Restarted PC to attempt any fix. Uninstalled that and installed the IMG installer after a restart. Same error. Did the same process on a Hime's computer and got the same results. Both computers antivirus is completely disabled for other program work we do.

    Let me know if there is anything I am missing and any further information that would be needed to help resolve this issue.

    UPDATE:
    I was able to find a solution. After making an exception in Window 10, the error still occurred. The issue is that you are unable to connect to the url/domain "cdn.royals.ms" To further explore this, you have to find out why it is you are unable to connect.

    So in my instance, I had to go through my routers app "eero" and make an exception for that url.

    Dave and the rest of the development team are correct in saying that your firewall is indeed blocking access. They however do not have access to you computer or network, so identifying the exact issue in each individual circumstance is going to be extremely difficult. Be patient, understand your personal setup, and identify the bottleneck/problem. If you have already made exceptions in windows and real time protection is disabled, there is something further on your end that is going on.

    One pc is 12900k, gigabyte z690, 32gb ddr5, 3070 ti, running windows 10 pro
    Other is, Ryzen 5600X, MSI B550, 32gb ddr4, 1070 ti, also running windows 10 pro

    Ive never had to forward any ports for pservers. But could you tell me what ports the server uses so I can go ahead and forward them?

    Edit: Forwarded ports TCP 8484, 8485, and 7575-7594 and still no luck.

    try deleting the entire folder and download fresh into a new folder, worked for me just now

    Yeah did that a few times. Just to entertain you, I did it again. Uninstall, Restarted, Installed, Restarted, Same issue.

    Are you missing the mr.dll file from the MapleRoyals folder when this happens?

    Hey guys! i have the same launch problem now! it says exactly the same as it says to u. i cant even help my self anymore,i searched for solution and tried everything over and over again. i hope anyone can help!

    the problem just appeared with the new update now, im running windows 7 32bit. before new update all was fine!! so i hope we find a solution! :/

    i hope being able to play soon again ..

    i also did try the compatibilty changes again like in the last update that use to work (all of them 1by1 ) but nope still same
    please don't rush changes or "QoL" =(

    i don't know what got changed now i guess something like ingame UI to change res? i saw in the files folder the file that had hd client = true or false is missing

    maybe just put them back as it was pls

    also can we have a test server a week or so open before update for us to try ? like in KMS ? or the closed one in GMS? it should help avoid such troubles each update =(

    This is likely an issue blocked by your firewall (part of anti-virus), do check your firewall (network traffic) history

    For the test server, it's unlikely to have that as it would have to include the new updates (content/skills) too

    the install was fine and the files are same as my friends i've chek both img and wz folders and did fresh install in new folder like all other allready said
    and for the record this error shows when trying to start the game ( i know the server is down ) but other can allready get to the login part so maybe this will go away when server comes alive? i hope but i doubt i suspect on the missing res file that had option for true/false and maybe the full screen mode

    as for the test server idea KMST/GMST blocks-censores the events/content that is not supposed to be spoiled or just goes with it to early showcase to few selected streamers eitherway the idea mostly is because lately patch-updates were very slow and rare and most of the solutions were explored by players anyway when server is live and sacrificing runs to make reports

    but anyway hope it gets resolved within this patch or very soon and not on the start of next event/update

    also to add the download files is the one that got update at 2:13 as the site says

    out of curiousity, bc i have firewall on and i gotta manual approve everything upon installation (IMG) and running mapleroyals.exe (for the first time), it first creates a file something like mapleroyals_updated.exe, which i assume replaces the original mapleroyals.exe, after that mapleroyals_updated.exe is deleted and it launches.

    do you also see this behavior?

    if that does not happen, (fresh install and try it?) can you disable firewall (and any anitvirus) > install into a newly created folder > run it again and see what happens?

    This is new behavior from our client, which allows us to automatically patch it for you, without you needing to reinstall the entire game.
    I'd suggest excluding the entire folder instead of a single executable when dealing with Antivirus, since now that might be necessary with this new automatic updater.

    Later on, this will also be able to automatically update your WZ/IMG files, without anyone ever having to reinstall the entire game again.

    i believe someone's antivirus was blocking the website so perhaps they can check it on their end too

    This isn't an issue of the game files being blocked (installation) but website being blocked (connection)

    Have you checked your network traffic history?

    Tried everything multiple Times and it still dont work. Also tried doing an exception on Windows defender and reinstalling but also wont work for me. Still no clue:/
