Hi Dave, as you have requested from me to open a new topic. I have an issue with my game as I stated in few other topics but was lazy to post one myself. So, since the new patch is out I am unable to open the game at all, sometimes I get an error and most of the times I don't get any message. I have installed the new patch and everything went wrong since then. Also I have disabled my anti virus, but it didn't help, I also went and uninstalled the anti virus and also didn't help. I have restarted my PC few times after installing the new patch, changed the location of the game, nothing is working at all. I can see so many people are facing the same issue, but what is annoying me that I can see few people of my guild are playing without any issue, imagine playing 7 hours every day and one day boom no game, and that's the case for the past 2 days. I really hope we can have an actual solution here, maybe an emergency patch to resolve the issue for everyone! I'm not trying to attack anyone here, but just stating facts, I hope you don't take anything personal.
Not taking anything personally But the Devs are unable to patch if they are unable to identify the cause of issue For starters, you may list out your PC's OS and Specs (this is because some issues may only occur for certain OS version)
What's the name of the anti-virus you have disabled? Or you meant the real-time protection of Windows Security is off?
I have Norton 360, free one, I know it's bad but does the job. So since I started playing I used to disable real time protection otherwise it will detect the game as a virus and delete all the game files, also I can't add exclusion, tried few times. So the only solution I used to do is disable real time protection and fire wall before I start playing. Now since I installed the new patch and did the exact same thing (disable real time protection + fire wall) it didn't help at all. I did try and re-installed the anti virus, same thing.
Have you restarted the PC upon uninstalling Norton before running Royals again? Cause it would still run in the background
regarding that link I get this message when I open it: f9f0bc24dec3363623da29c2403054b7c15ca0f7f20f0bc3486c9d607729807e and for the date on my exe is 27.11 while the MapleRoyals_updated is 29.11
The auto-update of your EXE failed (cause if it's successful, the old EXE will disappear and _updated will replace it) What's the file size of the _updated.exe?
What happens if you launch the _updated.exe, still nothing? You may also try deleting the old exe and rename "_updated" file to MapleRoyals.exe
Is your game installed at C-drive? If so, try move it out to another location, or reinstall to Documents/Desktop That error means the auto-update of that DLL file is failing
Does the DLL file have _updated as well, if so, try manual renaming too I not sure what's blocking your auto-patching, usually it's anti-virus
Correct, DLL file has updated as well, and when I removed and renamed then launched the game, I'm not getting any error any more, nothing happens at all
did you add the file location to exclusion in Norton and go into your windows defender and try disabling your fire wall. i use Malwarebytes and i had to while list the file and turned off my fire wall then re enabled it after starting the game and fixed these errors for me.
