Since the patch, full screen = stuttered movements visually, resolution looks distorted (not smooth) and long delays between alt tabbing or windowed to full screen and vice versa. If I leave it on full screen minimized, then go back to the game, the monitor might lose its signal too.

And how long the delays would be - 10 seconds? 30 seconds? It's best to record a video to show the situation you are facing
