How long should you be entitled to your FM Spot once you've secured it?

The best solution is to have a "Refresh Shop" button or "/refresh" command on FM Shops", which I made a thread for in the feedback forum.

It addresses all the points of what others are thinking of:

• No longer have drama of people FM botting/Sniping
  
• FM snipers have to wait for shops to close in the FM rather than sitting on people's shops and playing "PVP" against unknowing players just trying to sell loot
• Shop owners don't have to multiclient just to reset their store anymore
• Staff can mostly wipe their hands clean of FM botting report/cases
• Shop timers are the same, "Players will still be required to refresh/reset their shop within 24 hours of the last time they did it. If the timer reaches 24hours, then the shop spot will be lost just like before."
• Players who know how to grab a FM spot(on SC/Patch) and upkeep their shops through a patch will still be resetting shop as usual, just no longer worrying about Sniper players

If we were playing on a rebuilt server, then we'd already have this feature in shop and not have to deal with Snipers/FM botters. Unfortunately, we're playing on a old server with early 2000s mmo game design and it's unsure if Matt and Staff would even be in favor of such a QoL. Some Staff could be in favor of "NostalgiaTM" instead of changes that make sense. Or thinking that players "just aren't putting in the effort" trying to reset shop against multiple other players when they aren't trying to play PVP in the FM and already made the effort of 1. grabbing spot, 2. logging in multiple times (or staying active) tracking their shop timer to reset, and 3. upkeeping their store.

 

Going by this poll, I think only a minority would agree with you. Most people here do not consider you to be "entitled" to the FM spot after 24 hours. So sniping is fair game. No need to make a system that prevents sniping.

I'll be honest, your poll question and answer choices are misleading and don't provide any value. With the previous comment I made, I'd still have to vote under "No" because I'm of the opinion that if you lost your spot after 24 hours then you aren't entitled to it.

 

I agree with you because I like you a lot <333333. Here's a solution to everyone's problem: let's expand the Free Market and add 200-250 more rooms. It's not difficult to do, and it gives everyone a chance to set up shops in channel 1. We can make these new rooms different by including Kerning City, Ellinia, Magatia, Sleepywood, etc., in addition to the existing Henesys, Ludibrium, Perion, and El Nath. What do you think about allowing stores outside the Free Market? Personally, I'd prefer to buy things in Kerning City, but only character board shops, as the mushroom house shops are too large and ruin the aesthetics, fitting better only in FM.

 

The issue is not like that. Fm 1-1 is most viewd by players, thats why people fight for a spot in that room. I used to have 1-2, 1-3 up to 1-6 but i never have to worry about being sniped by others (specially from 1-4 to 1-6). I found its fair to compete for the best spot in fm and because its free market, no1 own anything there. It is better u beware and well prepared to reopen shop. Usually before shop close 2-3hours i go reopen it, if i saw some1 there i simply wait untill they gone, if they still there i will just cone back later. If this cant be done u can just stay at the spot for like 10-15mins doing nothing and then reopen the shop (because only u know when the shop is closed its impossible for a human to spam clicking the whole 10-15mins to steal the spot from u unless the player is botting which u can record and send it to staff (well prepared can reopen the shop in less than 1 sec, i dont think some1 can react that fast specially stay focus all the way the whole 10mins for a moment shop is closed))

 

In my experience 1-1 doesn't sell well anyway. Everyone just assumes your shops are overpriced if eye shopping, and if you owl it doesn't matter where the store is.

Yes because 1-1 is the best spot in fm so the price is high than avg, its the obvious thing.

Then this shouldn't be debate these days.
If ur spot is gone u just simply go find another spot because no matter where ur spot is , if its the lowest price atm it will be found.
But in my experience it depends on what u want to buy and the quantity.
If i want to buy something worth like a ws, cs just simply owl it, save time and u can buy lowest/ 2nd/3rd ws,cs with just 2m cost. If im out of apple/stopper and just want to buy 1or mayb up to 3 i basically go to 1-1 and just buy from the store. (I tried bulk sell 10.5m ea apple when price goes below 10m at 1-2 and all gone in 2 weeks)

1-7 is valued somewhere between 1-2 and 1-3 to me. Not because its 1-7 ,its worse than 1-5, 1-6 , Its better
