Event Make Stars of Maplemas Spirit actually farmable or remove the 7.5k star requirement from the medal

Stars are way too hard to farm. I suggest adding alternative and more consistent ways to obtain stars, increasing the drop rate, and/or removing the star requirement from the yearly medal. I don't mind snowman star rewards being decreased to compensate, anything to not make things too luck-dependent.

How are stars obtained now outside snowman?:

1. Area bosses (fierce competition right now by the way) only drop single digit stars, even high leveled ones.

2. Instanced bosses? Ellin bosses don't drop them (why?!). NT bosses do but not a feasible main source for most people. Papulatus, the only viable one for most people, only drops maybe 50-60 across both rounds.

3. The JQ is the hardest JQ in the entire game, not something most people can do everyday before work/bed, and frankly speaking some will never beat it. Tell me to farm 999 etc instead and I'll gladly do it. (alt zakum style!)

4. Winter dash can technically be run on only one character each time (people have been banned for multi-winter dash, it depends on whether someone with a grudge sees you and reports) and still you need 100 dashes for 5k stars. If you can dash average of twice a day, that's... 75 days for 7.5k.

5. Farming? Drop rate is complete crap. This applies to mage ulti farming, summon farming and "normal" farming.

Just to be clear I don't want easy mode where everyone can get everything in the shop each year, but it's an uphill battle to even get the 7.5k for the medal and more consistency would be great rather than relying pretty much solely on windfalls from Snowman. I already think one of my characters might not be able to get the medal this year because snowman is just refusing to yield stars to him.

The prizes also have sky-high costs, but we can get those next year. We can't get the 2023 medal in 2024.

 

Have been playing everyday since the beginning of the event attending snowman, dash, farming, occasional area boss hunting (love lilynouch and lyka dropping a whopping 5-9 stars per kill by the way) haven't spent any stars. Not even halfway there.

 

I foundLHC bear and golem drop like area boss.
So if your pet wins other people’s pets，you can got a lot.
But hight lv and pet question is not reliable.
My mule easily surpassed my mage farmer with lhc and snowman.(lucky game
Not sure can help you, but you can try farming Crocky with friend.
1 Crocky have 7.4m hp like chao.
The end of time does not affect the drop.
maybe pig can drop more snow and star for low lv player?

 

Thank you for the interesting idea, I'm not an LHCer nowadays so I haven't seen their star drops. Will try soloing maybe bear or blood reindeer (no idea if they resist fire) with 3 mages. There's no way I can party with people since my pets always lose.

Of course this doesn't take away from my original post, players can't be expected to solo LHC to farm stars.

Making pigs drop star bundles is a nice concept too!

 

Well, technically we’re only 1.5 weeks into the 5 week event.

 

Doesn't excuse the questionable event design.

Just removing the requirement from the medal relieves a lot of stress over RNG.

 

Sorry, i'm more or less referring to the number of spirits you got to be pretty much on track for 7.5k before the end of event. So is your feedback targeted more towards people who wants multiple characters to be able to complete it without any stress?

 

Certainly this benefits those with multiple characters (like... 3 or 4 which is quite common in this server, if you want to do 10 characters then I can't help you either). But even for those with 1 main, there's no guarantee any character can get lucky in snowman.

I mean if you quad farm for only 1 main and all the mules have stars on pet ignore then I imagine you can grind 7.5k straight up in a few weeks. However you can't expect everyone to quad farm, have an NT solo squad or have 10 area bosses on a timer daily. Since all other criteria for the medal are fair and solo grindable (snow drops in much larger amounts so a bit of area boss hunting day by day will get you there), I think only the stars need a revision/removal.

Also 7.5k is quite the awkward number considering the prize shop, but I digress.

 

Oh I forgot to mention, maybe try grinding at ftp1. The mobs cards give 50% drop rate. Can get lots of presents too. FM is close by to sell any extra dinner pieces.
