A bit of a QOL thing. It just seems a bit unnecessary to require us to hold the 6 encyclopedias until we have completed the wool quest, which could take several days... Many of us struggle greatly for etc space, and 6 slots (+ 1 for wool + 1 for the sock frame UI) is a big ask for one quest!
LOL please no, you don't want to see my disordered messy inventory. There are only going to be 2 kinds of people: 1) those with cluttered inventories that can already relate, without seeing mine. 2) those with OCD inventories, who will still be unable to relate and will just judge mine if they see it.
I don't see the need for staff to put time in this change. There's better stuff to fix really. Finish the quests and all the ETC will be cleared

I'm not sure what kind of solution would be best. Turning in the books at a different stage of the quest line? Combining them into a single item after collecting all six? Changing the dependencies for "The Lost Santa Encyclopedia" quest to no longer require you to finish "Hanging the Sock" first? If I remember right, the quest to deliver Santa's presents is made available after "The Lost Santa Encyclopedia" is finished, but could it be changed like this? "The Lost Santa Encyclopedia" could be changed to require "A Sock Creation Recipe" to be completed instead of "Hanging the Sock" before you can hand in the books. Once you collect all six books and talk to Mrs. Claus, she will eventually start "A Sock Creation Recipe" which requires you to have Santa Encyclopedia No. 3 in your inventory. Upon completing this quest, "Knitting the Sock" is made available. This is when you get the sock frame. Now that you no longer need the books, you can hand them in to Rooney. You still have to complete "Hanging the Sock" to trigger Santa's present delivery quest (this might require an update to Santa's quest to check that both quests are done instead of just Rooney's). Changing a quest ID in a quest's dependency list should hopefully not be hard to do. It would need to be tested, but it shouldn't require any new assets or code (though I have no idea what the code for this game looks like).
You could clear up 90 of your inventory simply by transferring items to a mule. The amount of etc items you carry you hardly ever touch on a daily basis except from the occasional ore crafting which also could be transfered easily to a mule.
I just threw them out and ignored them. Started collecting again when I needed 5~10 more wool/decided to complete the quest.
This is actually a decent idea. Add the encyclopedias to your pet's item ignore and forget about them until you collect 30 yarn and hand in the sock. It's a workaround until a more elegant solution is in place, but it'll do.
On top of that, there were idea about creating more tab or special item like a bag to store ur ores, quest items, event items (its like inv inside an inv) but i guess it takes alot of works to get it done. Been playing for years with 3/4 of my inv with full of these items (typhoon feather, token of team work, snow, maplemas, Halloween token, anni coin, purifi totem, burned energy, dust for hatching easter egg, stamp of chair gacha, cwk badges, ht dragon mark, shanghai permit, ludi medal, mallet, dolphins ticket, omega wrap ticket, forina beach vip, pap curl, ergoth jaw, tengu nose, crog claw, pianus scale, and more that i cant recall)
