As we see with the raising kanzir prices it made me think, Kanzir drops from HT, can craft, and obtainable from kerning gacha. Dks only have 2 viable meta weapons, Sky Ski and Pyrope Spear. It makes no sense to make Pyrope spear obtainable outside of the Anni event. Sky ski to my knowledge only comes from LHC Gacha and Showa gach, a lesser popular gacha. We compare this to a weapon like Stonetooth which comes from the most popular gach in game, NLC, and it's only around 1-1.5b perfect clean and can drop from Black Crow. However, both Paladin/Hero have multiple viable end-game weapons obtainable year round: Dragon Claymore Flame Sword Stonetooth Sword Perf Clean Sky Ski most recent one sold for 6.5b https://royals.ms/forum/threads/perf-clean-sky-ski-sold.222271/ Even if you had the liquid, these skis rarely ever touch the market. Like there would be a lot more skis on the market in the 125-132 range as well I do not think it should drop in places with already stellar rewards or content that is a tad too far from end-game content: Rose Garden CWK HT Auf Zak/Krex/Shao/Scarga/All the other PQs This leaves us with: VL Bonus Toad BGA/Boss I know we just got this entire Eye/Face scroll rework to make certain bosses more appealing but lets be honest, people are not running BGA/Toad for these scrolls and they are also very hard to sell. Most players do not want 30% face/eye scrolls. They want 60/70%s to then CS afterwards. I had 2 Eye Luk 30s, I had no idea what to do with them because they were hard to sell @ scroll guide price. I personally would lean toward suggesting it to Toad. Gives warriors more reason to run it BGA already drops BWG and Shogun Earrings. BWG is a better drop than ski also because you don't need to get a godly roll for it to be worth its peak value Toad only drops Ewands in comparison Easier to recruit for Toad than BGA imo
Aren’t faltizans/pinakas mostly unused by drk players as they progress into mid game? I feel like most people who use them don’t understand how strong the wep atk speed affects DPM. I know your faltz clear wasn’t much behind your sky but I don’t think they have much of a place right now even without making sky ski more accessible. To be honest so long as staff makes the drop rate reasonably still a rare drop, I don’t think players will find perf cleans often. But your faltz/pinaka point is good because this will affect mid game drk wep market mostly. It’ll give players more skis to scroll and make many more mid game skis.
I mostly wanted to mention swords since sword and spears are the classes respective most popular weapons. Crushed Skull Redner Dragon Battle Axe 1h Are all fine end game weps
faltizan / pinakas are not mostly unused. a good percent of players that pick drk as a first attacker option usually aren't funded (they choose drk class to save mesos on washing), so most of the times they would opt to use pinaka/faltizan as it is the cheaper alternative, and easily sourced. Even if we're talking about mid game situations, the diff between ski - faltizan/pinakas isn't that big tbh, its just the wrong stereotypical thinking that ski is much better than faltizan/pinaka where in fact it is only slightly better. Only situation where i think ski is much better is at VL due to lasers.
Aren't Pinakas in a pretty good drop rate spot right now though with bearwolves dropping so many of them? I also thought the DPM from your clear wasn't that big of a difference. Scrolled non-perf Pinakas are already pretty cheap and hard to sell aren't they? Because of the belief that skis are so much better DPM than Falt/Pinaka, isn't their pricing more of a player knowledge issue? I would imagine making skis more accessible would drop in price the mid game skis and pinakas/faltz. But I still think pin/falt have the purpose of being cheaper alternatives. If skis go down falt/pinaka should too making affording a decent scrolled one even easier
I'm not too sure about now, but i used to farm pinakas at ToT4 to scroll and sell them (5 years ago ), and they sold pretty fast back then. Skis are ofc more expensive since they're harder to attain, speaking for myself, if i were to invest in a midgame weapon that i know i would replace eventually since it's not endgame, i would just use a 13x~14x pinaka/faltizan til i can afford a perf ski, unless of course 12X~13x skis prices becomes affordable, then there wouldn't be a point for me to use pinaka/faltizan anymore.
The slower Attack Speed of Faltz and Pinaka's result in ~7% dps loss with equal w.atk (iirc) considering Apples and Echo it actually a fair amount. Easily 15-20 atk. Also Ski benefits more from SI, 17.39% vs 13.36. Wich further stacks with SE and Echo. However the tl;dr that nobody reads: IF ECHO AND SE AND SI AND ONYX APPLES (or better). Then yes, Ski out classes the rest significantly. I believe the misconception that anything not ski is useless is due to the non-existance of the mid-game market. And for the same reasons there are still daily forum posts asking if you can play this server if you don't hp-wash. "Bro, did you even look at the titles of the first 10 stickied posts?" Partially similar, people are also not buying (or selling) scrolled class gloves/shoes because w.atk is always better than stats. They dont want to math to figure out if a 12 atk scg is better than their 10 atk, 11 STR 6 DEX warri glove or that 9 STR 23 DEX SE shoe compared to a 4 atk fs. I guess the information is not accessible enough and to be honest. Who the fuck goes to a forum of a game in 2024. Regardless, Ski's are significantly better than the alternatives under the conditions that anyone with more than 100 forum likes find the bare minimum. The mid-game market (and arguably mid-game player base) is dead. So nobody really want to figure that out. A level 140 DK with a total net worth of 100m is also not buying stacks of Spear 30% and Pinaka's to make one themself. Another Spear people have been sleeping on. Including us 100+ forum likes nerds is the Fishing Pole, wich outclass Ski's without SI. Aka all your dailies. I don't agree with needing more ski's. Mainly because of economy reasons. I do however subscribe to any suggestion to make the game more fun and accessible for new/mid-game players. More Faltz? Lets go! Idgaf about Spear 30 prices so I guess how about slapping it on the Chao drop table? We're all farming that with 5 or more Chao-Mules anyway. And its content that also new players can access easily.
Who needs spears when you can have a thicc polearm? I feel like this server focuses way too much on what's considered meta (even if it isn't actually the best in practice), but it's also hard to fault people for some of that when the midgame is basically nonexistent, like others have said, and figuring out your actual damage versus on-paper damage requires external knowledge. I wonder how many people would stop thinking that Sky Skis (and similar weapons) are the only options if there was a real damage calculator somewhere in the game or on the website. Range isn't good enough. I'm talking about stuff like Kheb's analysis above where you can compare damage with/without buffs and attack pots. And then a way to see what those percentages actually mean in practice. How does a 7% loss translate to the real world? If a boss takes 10 minutes to defeat with one weapon, saving 7% means you save about 42 seconds in perfect conditions. Would you pay X amount of mesos to save a single stopper whenever you run this boss? Maybe you would... but now you can make that informed decision. And maybe then some of the non-meta weapons would be given more of a chance due to availability. Spoiler That surfboard up there cost my brother only three bil to buy with three slots pre-scrolled. Perfect STR and two off perfect attack. With buffs and attack pots, I've seen it hit over 100k per hit with the rare 110k. He can clear Zakum's left arms at almost the same time as my NL clears the right arms. Polearms can also hit the ship in Dunas v2 while spears can't. But no one gives a about purple surfboards because they aren't spears. Yeah, they're not """""optimal""""", but they're way easier to get. This also touches on the differences between hybrid DKs versus single-weapon DKs, but that's a different topic.
