Having marked spots where your only allowed to open a FM store would make it that more stores would be able to be up than not having marked spots. Quick example As you can see, the top row has 5 stores up with a smaller area meanwhile the mid row has 4 stores up with a larger area. The reason why this happens is because people open stores without bothering about the placement, which eventually lead to less shops being open to a room. As a quick comparisson you see that picture 2 has 6 STORES open in the middle row meanwhile in picture 1 has 4 STORES open in the middle row. So my suggestion is to have the fm rooms having something to show that your allowed to place a shop here, another quick example shown below. Ofc the 'sign' should be replaced to something that works better, but just a quick example that i said before.. And as a punishment for not opening the store at one of those 'store slots' gets ur own store closed. What are your opinion about this? edit : Made a quick comparisson & marked some words.
As i find it a good thing on the one hand, its a reduction of freedom on the other hand. I like that u can Open the Store wherever you want to. (I even more like it as in many of the 3D MMOs where u can even set up Stores ANYWHERE in the whole world thats so cool )
I like this idea. I've seen so many jerks that would just take up 2 slots without consideration for other people.
I like to think of it, not as the "Free Market", but as the "Free For All Market". I like to take up as many spaces as I can with my shop, and only put in 1 worthless etc item for 2b.
Nono, tem coisas muito mais importântes pro servidor And it will limit the freedom of the players, which is one of the strongest points of MapleStory.
Though I've seen many instances of abuse, doubt this will be changed. We can only hope people will be considerate of each other and not be total jerks.
I'm sorry, but this is the internet. Even though the majority of Royalers are friendly, there is always that small group of people who ruin things for the rest of us. Something that doesn't require that much effort could be implemented, I don't have time to think of or write down an example atm because I have to go to work.
Tbh, I don't think its a good idea. If people are smart about fm stores, they could totally fit 7/8 stores on that middle roll itself.
Not sure how feasible it would be to implement this. I voted yes though. You only need 1 spot. Also, would it be possible for an improved "valid spot" check to be done in order to address the overlapping stores arguments? a) A spot needs to be "claimed" as soon as somebody has started setting up (it was like this in the original MS too) b) The check needs to be done from the point on the ground (nearest platform) directly below where the request to set up was made (Some adjustments may need to be made to the existing vertical checks too depending on how it is currently implemented). This will destroy the stupid "jump" trick.
Any reasons on why you dont think its a good idea? Dont take this reply negatively, I just want to see all kinds of perspectives of this idea, hence why its in feedback!
I would never support the idea that the GM's would have to implement an entirely new fm store system just for this server, over the fact that a few people might get left out of an FM1 spot some of the time. Maple has been around for 10 years and its been working fine this way all along. I see no reason to have to have the GM's babysit so much. As you can see in the screenshot you posted, we easily fit more stores into that middle row, and Cyndy has already said you can fit up to 7-8 on that row alone, not 5. This is totally unnecessary and would just be a pain. Edit: The shops are reset every 1-3 days at the moment, so everyone has their fair chance of getting a spot anyway.
