My emotional return to MapleStory after 15 years.

To start, MapleStory was a huge part of my youth. I played in 2004 when I was 12. I still remember leaving walking to Lith Harbor and finding a wooden shield from snails and was hooked immediately. HHG1, KPQ finding track, first time 100's, it was the best times of my life. Every single day for 5 years straight I played MapleStory before school and after school until I met my then girlfriend who is now my wife. I am in my 30's now, married, 2 kids, and I randomly stumbled upon used NX cards in my storage unit that I kept for memories. I immediately went to YouTube and felt all the nostalgia of listening to the entire 2 hour soundtrack from MapleStory in the early 2000's.

I was curious and went to see how MapleStory evolved and was saddened at the state of global MS, it doesn't feel or look the same. I found MapleRoyals and felt in my heart that this is where I wanted to be, so here I am!

Seeing an active classic MS server brings me joy I cannot put into words. Forums being active feels like it did so long ago. The client is downloading as I write this introduction and hope to make many life long Maple friends along the way. Feel free to drop your IGN and I'd love to talk and maybe even join a guild haha. Super happy to be here. I will follow up ASAP with my IGN if anyone is curious or wants to chat The community kept me in MapleStory for so long and hope this continues in my Royals journey as well

I recommend reading a guide in terms of night lord, as there is the HP washing mechanic, and well.. NL is an expensive class to fund, but most importantly - just have fun

Its funny you mention holding onto NX cards. I also kept all of my old NX cards. However in my case I saved mine as a reminder to never let addiction cause me to whale again. I cant explain how much money i spent on the game and yet, I sort of consider it well worth having spent the money at the same time. P2wing allowed me to partake in parts of the game that gave me most of my greatest memories. Ones that I'll remember fondly till the day I die.

My heart about bursted with happiness finind this post! I'm also returning to MS after about 15 years or so. I feel so out of my depth with all the new material (quests, classes, locations). I miss the simplicity of the old MS before the Cash Store opened. I'm lucky to still have all my old characters to get back into the game, but I think I'll start a new characters till I get my bearings again. I'll drop IGN once I sort it out.
