Used to be strictly against this system. Nowadays, I don't think I'd mind either way but it feels weird to imagine a server where all gear is generally only purple/gold-tag once u get past a certain level of wealth I had a 14/4 shoe (blue) turn purple on the next slot that was CS'd. Imagine the disappointment and horror when Def/Magic Def both +5'd while the attack went down. Brutal, misleading, and a tease at what should've been. Blue to purple tag, but lost 25b+ in value LMAO On the positive side, I think the changes would help normalize prices of identical tier gear and make a lot more "similar/identical" visualizations for progression and thresholds for decent, good, and endgame/elite items. Coming from someone who benefitted merching "good color-tag" end-game items vs. a gray/orange color tag, it would increase the value of "bad color tag" items that are actually good/otherwise identical and that's generally a good thing for the market and general playerbase that doesn't tryhard colortag merching On the negative, there will be 0 uniqueness between a lot of gear outside of CSS potential (if you think this is the case already, it WILL get a lot worse!) and even more meaningless stats to ignore among common-traded items. It'll get rid of a lot of what makes the original system unique. It isn't just about the "main" stat, but about the extent to how ridiculous the numbers rolled in your favor from below avg to godly. Even when there are meaningless statlines on items, chaosing +'s on those useless lines sometimes gave a silver lining among all the bad that generally brings statistically speaking
Since the new color indicator has been implemented ... want to know if the face accessories ( Xmas nose / Maple leaf / branch nose... etc) could be changed better too ( could it at least be purple )
Now it's gold tag or feelsbad I guess. Maybe a green/pink tier above it like @Johnny suggested to honor previous iterations of color tag rarity would be nice. It technically does make you #tankier 40b 16 atk pink sock when?
Boy did you ever call this. The countless hours that some islanders have put into making these, through terrible scroll drop rates. Terrible item stats. Turning them into something special. Something they were legitimately proud of just to have it fade into the background of their inventories. It's very disheartening to see. There are a few of us who only play islander and that was their whole endgame.
| This top is 1 in 29,394 on Maple Island. It's the best of its kind in circulation. I have spent hundreds of hours on this game, creating good islander gear, and so have my islander friends, who have all been negatively affected by this change. I feel islanders have been disproportionately affected by this change since we do not have access to weapon attack scrolls, etc. The old system felt inclusive of everyone, and I much prefer it. I understand this is a change people have voted for, but the change to item colours has destroyed everything my friends and I have worked hard to achieve gear-wise, and I have uninstalled the game as a direct result of it. Thanks for reading. ~ Adaryn
Damn Babies over colors. goodjob on the change, now real endgame gears can stand out. this is just an example of why people should think twice on their QoL votes and threads, your results are bound to affect those too deep into it and not everyone will like every result but seeing so much rage and butthurt over simple colors is wild. and you wonder why they're hesitant to not progress the server. if this gets reverted back it'll just prove my point.
Funny, because I thought we were discussing end-game islander gear. Or is Maple Island level 72, 61 and 111 not end-game enough for you?
I think the difference here is no emotion is being said today until your comment. Realistically, this is a change that does not effect game play in any other way than to dissatisfy habitual scrollers. Any who, like mentioned above a very easy fix to this is to add colors to equipment that hit higher tiers so that equipment can still get recognition higher than gold that it doesn't tarnish what has already been created or will likely be created. To try and discredit and downplay other people's feelings towards a subject is completely irrelevant and distasteful.
I personally feel that this change is really unnecessary, the system is there for almost 11 years why spend so much effort trying to change a thing that is not broken???
Gonna be honest, to me I feel like Orange colored gear being the best an islander will see after this change kind of fits them thematically more. By playing a character thats the basic entry level job that uses basic entry level weapons and gear, using basic pots, using basic attacks, killing basic monsters, the best your gear can be colored is orange which is the basic color an item becomes after its been scrolled. Im not saying i agree or disagree with this change, just pointing out a common theme i noticed from the change being made.
Even if I only been an islander for two weeks (lv.34) Still very frustrated about the Item Color system change for islander. You like this islandlander community. It’s very simple and the community is very friendly. Decided to settle down and work hard The islander worked hard for hundreds of hours, and the only reward is the gold tag. Reward you with a golden tag first. Now say: No, you only deserve to have the orange tag, just like any other gear, nothing special. It's not fun at all, really.
I agree completely. I would say most people would think left is the correct color representation. Islanders intentianally are playing continued tutorial, how many hours you spend dont not make it "end gear" and should not be considered as end gear on the system side.
Hard disagree. That top has 5 x 10% pass on it on an above average base, scrolled without using the function of free market and white scrolls. It is an insane top for an islander. Players are too used to seeing stats such as weapon def/m def as useless and having an ocean of weapon def scrolls to waste so i understand why non-islanders would look at it and think its not worthy of a gold tag, however with that amount weapon def/m def along with that +50 hp, a level 11 character at maple island would be godly lol.
First, however low % it could be doesn't mean it should be godly. Second, we can call it Islander or whatever, and try to put meaning into it, but maple island is a tutorial. Games are not supposed to be systemed around tutorials.
imo what islanders could enjoy is literally the genuine level grinding in the small piece of the land, and the next level of islander will prob persue the color tag of their gears ( to be either purple or yellow, even blue one is cherish-able ) however their efforts are gone due to these ... useless changes , yea this is a serious word to be used here ( note that i also benefit from having yellow tagged CGS after this update, but i rather not to have the changes, also i voted NO to the change in the first place )
What i mean is the item itself, why it should be a gold item. That top on its own would suddenly enable level 11 characters to tank hits a normal level 11 character isn't supposed to, and not to mention substantially reduce pot usage at that level. Sure the top is just a lowly level 11 requirement, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be worthy of a gold tag no matter how good the stats are or just because it doesn't have the affix "Weapon attack". We can look at accuracy gears too for a broader perspective. At level 3X, a bowman/thief/gunslinger doesn't give a damn about accuracy, to them, the affix 'accuracy' is trash. However, to a warrior, at level 3X, if you have godly accuracy gears, suddenly you are able to do gobies, suddenly you have a crazy advantage at leveling. I assume those gold accuracy gears that people used to have are now blue at this point. My point is, it's not always about weapon attack... Most of the time it is, but not always. Affixes that are useless to some, might be the best for others, that's what adds to each item unique-ness.
