Just made my ironman and got up to level 17 with some of the early job quests. I went with a paladin named IronMace because I've always wanted to play paladin on royals but the hp washing, int gear, boss mechanics etc put me off because it seemed so impenetrable, so playing this way by these rules really takes the pressure off and lets me enjoy the game much more.
I just hit level 100 on my future ironman bucc! I also managed to land a CS on my anniversary scarf and now I need a new scarf
Hello guys, I finally reset the password for this forum account so I will provide an update after playing this mode for about 5 months: On 01/14/2024, I achieved level 100 on my character grinding galloperas. I was farming galloperas because they are the only mob that ironman realistically have access to for farming them. The drop rate seemed to be quite low as I believe I only got 3 scrolls while grinding there from 90-100. On 01/21/2024, I achieved level 120 on my character after grinding on himes from 100-120. Himes are a good choice for many classes and the earring dex 70% scrolls were very useful in scrolling a 10 dex earring. On 01/24/2024, I killed my first chao at level 125. Early levels of fourth job were spent doing the ellin forest prequests as I wanted to unlock the daily bosses for another source of experience / NX. On 01/26/2024, I killed my first papulatus after a few failed attempts. This boss is useful for heroes and other fourth jobs because there are exclusive skillbooks only obtainable from this boss. For heroes, it is brandish 30 which is their main attacking skill. Since papulatus can only be killed once a day (twice if you saved the crack from the previous day), you are timegated in a sense. Even if you did get the book to drop, level 30 mastery books only have a 50% chance to pass. This led to multiple attempts being needed in my case to pass brandish 30. On 01/28/2024, I crafted my first dragon weapon, a dragon claymore. I was able to land 6/7 60% 2h sword att scrolls on it and it served as a good temporary weapon. Dragon scales / spirits were obtained from monsters killed for the silver mane quest and also monsters that dropped skillbooks such as Advanced Combo Attack 20 / 30, Power Stance 20, Brandish 20. On 01/29/2024, I solo'd my first bigfoot. It took 34 minutes but I was hunting them to get the bigfoots toe for the silver deputy star quest. On 02/01/2024, I obtained the black belt after maxing out dojo points daily for a week straight. Average time it took to max out dojo points was about 4 hours. I was running out of things to do as I was waiting for papulatus to drop brandish 30. On 02/03/ 2024, I received my first brandish 30 book which I subsequently failed. On 02/06/2024, I finally passed brandish 30 after failing it once from papulatus. After achieving this solo, I prepared to attempt a solo zakum run. On 02/08/2024, I soloed zakum after 4 hours. Arms took about an hour and the bodies took an hour each. The good thing about taking so long for the bodies is that eventually zakum runs out of mana so it just sits there for you to beat up. On 02/07/2024, I achieved the quest specialist medal. I was aiming for this medal because one of the goals for this account is to wear a stonetooth sword while having a base 4 dex. This is more difficult in the ironman mode because we do not have access to a scrolled horntail pendant. On 02/20/2024, I achieved my goal of wearing a stonetooth sword with 4 base dex. The past few weeks after the zakum solo, I had been running zakum with guild members to obtain advanced combo attack 10. Advanced combo attack is a big boost in damage for heroes. On 02/21/2024, I obtained Advanced Combo Attack and scrolled a very good zakum helmet. On 02/22/2024, I killed my first crow. On 02/23/2024, I achieved level 150. On 03/02/2024, I achieved level 155. These levels, I just logged on and did my daily bosses. On 03/12/2024, I obtained the quest virtuoso medal. The extra amount of stats is useful because in the future I would like to phase out my dex cape / dex shoes for an attack cape / shoe. Every little stat matters. On 03/27/2024, I achieved level 160. 10 more levels till rose garden. Just doing daillies and logging off at this point because the golden compass event was not too useful for me. On 05/25/2024, I achieved level 165.
I somehow left the guild on accident or something? Could I get a re-invite? IronMace up to level 45! I just snagged a maple hammer from teddies so I'm working through some ludi quests!
