I'm planning on giving out up to 2b with big events, similar to the ones @Christopher Chance hosts. The details are still being worked out, but it will be a multi-stage event, and I wanted some community input on a few things. Right now, I'm wondering two things:
    1. What time fits best for most active players?
    2. What's better: 2 events with a 1b prize pool each or 1 event with a 2b prize pool?
I will first start a poll for the first question, then for the 2nd. Take into account (for the first question) that the event could last 2 hours. Feel free to leave comments on this thread about it, as well as tips you might want to give me concerning the content. I've pretty much figured out most of it, but am always open to suggestions. :)

This option would also mean the first event will be sooner (probably around May 9-12), since it's easier to get 1b than 2b at once. :p

Keeping the dream alive. Best backcourt duo PlentyxFlirt.

Wouldn't be surprised that at any point on time there wouldn't be a lot of people online. Lots of new faces.

You could host like the event twice.

Definitely feel like 1b x 2 events would be better. Either way I'll participate

    1. Go big or go home. One 2b event.
    2. These times are all bad for the american players - most of us will be at school or work unless you're waiting until the end of may when the college kids are home, or even into june/july for those still in high school. The later at night, the better it gets though.
    3. Pls no JQ's. Those alone prevent me from even bothering to try chance's events.

    1. Thanks for your opinion. :D
    2. Assuming it's on a saturday, school shouldn't be an issue. Work could be (not for you, though, right? You work at the weirdest times lel), but I have to remember the European/Asian players, too. As of right now, 9 PM GMT seems the best time. I could also host two events, one earlier (mid May) at 7 PM for Europeans/Asians and one in June at 9-10 PM GMT for Americans. LF> more input
    3. I despise JQs, so you're good there. :p

Yeah, I definitely didn't mean work around MY schedule (lol 12 and 24 hour shifts on a rotating calendar what even is that) but 10 PM server time is 5 pm east coast, so students are mostly out by then, and workers on a traditional schedule are coming home, but it's only 2 pm west coast, so students are very likely to be in class for an hour or more later, and people who work a traditional schedule still have hours to go. Yes, irrelevant for students if its a saturday - I guess you just need more input on how many people work late saturdays.

And thank you based marty for no JQs.

Thought I'd give a headsup on what the event will be! There will be 3 stages, each requiring Maple knowledge. The final stage will add the element of strategy and competition, as well. This is subject to change!

    Stage 1: Trivia

This stage will be a mix of all forms of Maple trivia. Questions will be similar to those asked in @Christopher Chance's event or the monthly Around The World event:
    • Trivia (Q&A)
    • No one ever listens to me (NPC quotes)
    • Hangman/Wheel of Fortune
    • Name the Item
    • Unscramble
    • What Monster is this?
Trivia: Straightforward. I ask a Maple-related question, the first to answer correctly wins.
No one ever listens to me: I will present quotes from NPCs around Maple World. The first to guess the NPC who says this wins the round.
    Hangman/Wheel of Fortune: It's your task to guess the word I am looking for. I will gradually add letters to it. Example: _ _ _ _ _ _ > _ R _ _ _ _ > A R _ _ _ _ and so on, answer would be Archer.
Name the Item: I will drop an item, the first to guess the correct item name wins.
Unscramble: I will mix up the letters of a word and gradually give clues, the first to guess the right word wins. Example: "tlohrani", where the answer would be Horntail.
What Monster is this?: This one is unique to my event as of yet. I will give info about a certain monster, the first to guess the right monster wins. The hints will be hard at first, gradually becoming easier, e.g. drops, then HP/MP/XP, then level and appearance, and finally the location.

When you answer a question correctly, you advance to Stage 2. There will probably be 20 people who will move on to Stage 2, which is...

    Stage 2: Scavenger Hunt

At this stage, your task will be to gather certain ETC drops from monsters around Maple World. There will be several stations, at which you will have to collect 2 or 3 items, 10 of each. At each station, you will receive a new set of items to collect, as well as a clue to find the next station.
    • Station 1: Victoria Island (3 items)
    • Station 2: World Tour (2 items)
    • Station 3: Orbis, Aquarium & El Nath (3 items)
    • Station 4: Mu Lung, Herb Town & Ariant (3 items)
    • Station 5: Ludibrium & Korean Folk Town (2 items)
Everyone will start at Lith Harbor and be given a clue to locate the first station. From there onwards, you will receive the next clue for the next station, as well as the items you have to gather. Once you have reached the final station, you will receive a clue that will lead you to your final location, where I will take the items you gathered from you to check if you got all of them (total of 13 different items, 10 of each).
    • Partying together to gather items is allowed, but doesn't have to be told to me or any of those helping me organise this event.
    • You're not allowed to use Teleport Rocks or town-specific Return Scrolls.
    • Eos/Orbis Rock Scrolls are allowed, but I will attempt to make their use of limited/no worth.
    • Leaving channel 9 will first lead to a warning, 2nd time will result in a disqualification.
I'll have several helpers to track everyone's movement. The first 7 to arrive to the final location win and advance to the final round!

    Stage 3: Final Stage
(name is being worked on, lacking creativity atm)

The final stage is all about tactics, as well as knowledge. The basic idea is: Get as many points as possible! You can get points each round. There's 4 different types of a round:
    1. Normal: A normal round where completing your task gives you x points. Failing to complete it means you get nothing!
    2. Stealing: At a stealing round, the first to complete his/her task will be allowed to steal points from someone else.
    3. Betting: In a betting round, everyone will choose how many points they want to bet. If they succeed in completing their task, they receive the amount of points they bet. If they don't, they lose that amount. The more you bet, the harder the question will be!
    4. Challenge: This is a combination of stealing and betting. There will be 3 pairs, and the person lowest in the ranking can choose for how many points they can challenge their opponent. The first to complete their task wins and steals that amount of points from the other.
Tasks can be questions, hide & seek rounds, possibly a JQ (trying not to), etc. Every 4-6 rounds (not sure yet), the person with the least amount of points will be eliminated, up to the top 3, who will then fight for the 1st and 2nd place. This stage is still being worked on, so expect minor changes. :)

I'm open to feedback! The event is most likely to be May 9, and a 2nd event could be around June 13. Those dates are open to change, though.

Lots of credit to @Christopher Chance, thanks for ideas 'n shit, ez

Everything besides this one - which I personally hate - seems great. Also I'm not a fan of Scavenger Hunt, I feel like people who make it throught this one are usually mages or hermits.

As for the prize, 1b for the winner, and the rest for 2nd and 3rd place!

I voted for 9pm, though I wish it could be on Sunday... will try to participate anyway!

@Christopher Chance's events have lots of non-mage and non-NL classes in the top 12 from the scavenger hunt. Partying with a Bishop helps. :p
