They came out 8 and a half months after v62. For someone like me that thinks of white/chaos scrolls and pirates as "new content" (had quit before v62 even came around) they're not appropriate to royals by any means, but I understand that (for some reason) a large fraction of the player base wants to see new areas and other content. If there were a ~togglemedals command I wouldn't be upset about them being introduced.
I don't think ~togglemedals is a great idea. I mean the point of medals is to show your glory or at least for 40% of the people.
To be completely honest, I would LOVE to see medals make an appearance ...just not the Adventurer ones that you get at levels 10/30/70/120 100 extra HP at level 30 can make a huge difference to non-warrior classes I would LOVE to see some custom titles for Royals-only events and such Like maybe, "[GM] Loves Me" or "Most Loyal Royal"; something like those Spoiler
If medals were to come out with the entire title thing, I would definitely prefer custom royals ones over the old ones :x not saying I like the idea of having a huge title under my name (EMS was the worst for having extremely huge titles for playing on Supreme) but still, if something.. either that or ~togglemedals
I like the idea of medals being a way to show what you like to do in Maple (as was mentioned earlier; if you enjoy questing, wear the 'Quest Specialist' medal). What I don't like is the idea of medals just being another way to get more stats. That's what I dislike about the newer versions of MapleStory; everything is just about stats and lines of text with "+3 x" and +12% y". I don't mind how medals look beneath the guild/character- names though.
Whether it's long medal or not, I personally think medal system destroys the mood of v62. I would love to see Royals maintain as the perfect v62 server ~togglemedals may seem to be a great idea for me.
I like the ideas that GMs try to add more new sources for more enjoyable contents. But for me, medals don't go with v62 personally.

As long as the staff keeps the medals short and not obnoxious, I personally think they are fine. If they are like the "Brutal Dark Angel" medal posted above, then that will get rly annoying. I personally think medals show what people like to do, and show achievements. Even if medals had literally no stats, I would still try to get some of the impressive ones.
We aren't a v62 server right now. We're a nostalgic versioned server. We will remain a nostalgic versioned server after the new source is released as well.
A version needed to be defined I believe at the time Matt submitted the website when he first started. I will look into removing that so as not to cause any confusion.
That post doesn't lie, it currently is a 0.62 client with mostly 0.62 content, skill values etc. But it is obviously upgrading to a later versioned client. but not that much later
Wow, that is a great example of a leading question, and thus a completely invalid poll. Don't want a medal under your name? Don't wear one! You aren't forced to use them. I refuse to vote in such a silly poll.
A moderator can easily change the poll questions and make it a (more) serious topic. I don't know why this isn't done, instead OP gets attacked by it.
