As a huge fan of balloons / ghosts, I would actually be thrilled if there was some mob like a balloon / ghost spawning once a day / twice a day. I won’t make any excuses regarding the overall economy and how this might help the game, it’s just one of my favorite contents in the game and I would love that to be something casual rather than halloween / anniversary only. However, I do understand this can’t be something that spawns too often like balloons / ghosts do, so once a day could be actually great and rates for cs/ws drops should definitely be lower than those of balloons.
Thought about this too, i’m also conflicted about this but also can’t deny my hard feelings balloon is now gone :/ Thanks for replying fam, I will try to take it easy until this thread will be answered I guess
the baloon / ghost are probably around for like 1/3 or 1/4 of the year with anni and halloween (?) events also is there something in christmess too? I dont remember exactly I just feel its a part of most events
I agree that a daily spawn would make event spawns less special. Also it would be kinda anticlimactic if it spawned in someone's map and was instantly found (which happens during this even too but at least you know there's another one spawning soon) It would be cool if it could be done occasionally as a GM event, but also included maps that don't normally spawn mobs. Maybe the GM could choose the map to make sure it's not found immediately. But then I guess that opens the door for allegations of abuse/favoritism.
Not similar to a mob hunt but: There was a special type of mob in another game (tree of saviors) that I played which randomly spawns a special silver or gold version of any mob normally in the map. Silver giving loot drops and currency equivalent to as if you just killed 200-300 mobs and gold giving the exp of that. The mobs die a lot slower there so maple equivalent would be like 1000-1500 mobs worth. The spawn rate is very rare, I could estimate 1/50000 mob kills for royals. It would be fun to see mobs like that spawn in maps. Silver would be a jackpot loot and gold be jackpot exp (potentially be sold as leech exp too). Only downside I see is if mages are unaware of a gold mob and suddenly levels up without everstone.
This would be pretty bad for leech sellers IMO. They would have to give the mob a ton of HP to compensate for the additional EXP, and if you have a leecher AFK in your map I can already see complaints like:"Why did leecher A make me 7 levels and leecher B only 4 levels? Blacklist!!" It would also really mess up anyone selling leech on a per-level basis. Another issue is overleveling, or leveling unexpectedly, especially without INT gears equipped / MW active. I like the idea of a loot explosion monster, I don't see any harm in that. But something that gives a lot of EXP at once is going to introduce problems. If we had golden loot monsters, instead of making them just drop a bunch of random equips (because who cares then about a golden blue snail), maybe they could drop town-specific gachapon tickets. To make it more interesting, maybe some new types of tickets? They could also just drop NX, I just think it's not nearly as exciting and you'd probably just farm bosses for that. Regular (common drop rate) Bronze Ticket = uncommon item or above (no potions or junk scroll, uncommon drop rate) Silver Ticket = rare or above (rare drop rate) Golden Ticket = guaranteed jackpot item (very rare drop rate) I think there should be a different version of each ticket for every town (otherwise you just bring them to the highest return gach machine which is kind of boring) but that is definitely doable. For example: Golden Gachapon Ticket (Kerning). This would make hunting treasure monsters a great side-activity and it would scratch that balloon-hunting itch without having a reward that's too crazy. Also, to combat mage farming, just simply don't allow them to spawn in maps that players typically farm at (like Ulu and Pepe maps).
