Hello fellow Royals Girls and Boys, As probably anyone here should know already, this Server is all about Nostalgic. But as were not a one to one copy of GMS neither there some modifications like multiplier on EXP, meso and also on the item droprate. Theres one point i always had a problem with in most Private Servers, its how the meso/drop multiplier brings all the Stuff sold by NPC out of scale. I'll still remember my first days in Maple, as there weren't even those Beginner Quests wich gave u some Potions to start with. So Potions were a way more valueable thing, at least at the beginning. Furthermore this would kinda address to Mages, in the old Days of Maple it was MUCH more costy to Spamm the Mages Ultis all day long. My Suggestion would be, to adjust the Prices from all NPC items so they would harmonize more with the meso/droprate. In my opinion this would make things more "Realistic". For an example, as the meso droprate is 4 times higher i would so Suggest to make the NPC prices 4 times the value there at this moment. The only Point im not clearly confident at this point is, if such a change should change the values when u sell an equip/item to NPC too. Would we need to calculate it like: 2 times the chance for an drop = 0.5x the Value ? For not making it too complex at this Moment i would kinda like it to leave it with just adjusting the "Buy from NPC" values. How do u all think about this ? Would like to hear your opinions about this / other Suggestions for the adjustment. Greetings Lacrima
I woudnt bother with the basic potions, ginger ale are the main potions i use as a bishop and they get pretty pricey as is, i think i blow off 20m every refill. I can't imagine a warrior or some other class where it's harder to make money blow off that kind of meso constantly.
Well did u ever asked yourself why HP Potions cost only half the price of MP ones ? And im Sure it wouldnt make a Bishop/AM poor if they had to spend more, i mean thats the whole point. The biggest downsite would be, that such a change would be kinda unfair for people who get to a high level with the old price.
I use Mana Bull for grinding usually on both my FPAM and Bishop. As far as HP goes, I usually get barbarian elixir on my FPAM and Bishop... or I use heal. When Zakking and HTing I tend to use Ginger Ales or Power Elixer.
Honestly the only thing that high potion prices did was made it stupidly hard for first time players. I dont think potion prices should be raised. High level people wont worry about them either way and with all the money people make from gaching it would be irrelevant to raise prices, and just annoying.
I wouldn't mind increasing the price of the more potent NLC potions. It would also function as a decent meso sink. My bishop only consumes ~250 ginger ales an hour spamming genesis, and that doesn't even amount to 1m. Scaling mana elixirs, white pots, etc. would potentially make it more difficult on new players.
Ehm you get 5263 Ginger ales for 20m If you have 10k hp and ginger ales heal 75% hp, you would heal 40 million~ hp for a cost of 20m. Naah screw the high leveled people.
Honestly, you could live off the Power Elixir drops from certain mobs. Increasing the price on potions will do little to nothing to the economy, short term or long term. Gotta think in millions/billions if you want real change.
ahh i messed it up, i meant its unfair for people who are new compared to others well as allready mentioned, if a Mage has to repot these cost are allready in the millions, now multiply it by lets say 4 times, i think its like a Money Sink. Money sinks should be spreaded instead of "The one Huge Money Sink" anyways ...
Yeah, I agree with this. I really only use potions from gachapon and bosses like krexel and papulatus. Raising the price of potions would do nothing for me. In the past, spending a lot of money on potions was annoying but didnt really do that much. Having more mesos in the server is overall a good thing I think and is better for the economy.
The input of mesos into the economy vastly outweighs the cost of production i.e. potion cost. It's not even close. I disagree. More mesos floating around causes inflation.
Well does that mean youre searching for way more radical ways of meso sinks ? Why are u arguing against an increase of Potion/NPC stuff then ? I think it wouldnt be a non-effective at all measure. Well its right, Papulatus nearly spamms your inventory with pots, maybe this could need a slight adjustmen as well.
Actually Plenty and Egonic make really good points. I guess I wouldnt be opposed to a raise in potion price, but I think it would end up being mostly inconsequential for actual gameplay and game dynamics. My question for Plenty or anyone else is really how big of a problem inflation is? White and Chaos scroll prices seem pretty stable, and I know that a lot of scroll and other item prices have been relatively stable as well.
White Scrolls and Chaos Scrolls will eventually go up slowly because of high demand. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves. The recent Red Envelope event made White/Chaos Scrolls go down a bit, but eventually it's on it's way up once again, like as if the event never happened. Other scrolls don't go up because they can be relatively obtained through easier means or just aren't as demanded as White/Chaos Scrolls are.
With more people in the server I can see a huge inflation in the future, from 300 to 500 players will have a big impact, we even hit closer to 800 players.
