I understand there was some sort of maintenance done at around 4pm servertime on 26 August 2024 (this is around 12am my time). Ever since then, I have been unable to open any clients on my usual laptop that I use for MapleRoyals. I have been not been able to open clients on this laptop for a total of 16 hours now (was at work in between).

What I have tried that has failed:
    1. Spamming opening the game
    2. Using USB tethering to use another ISP and mobile data
    3. Restarting
    4. Redownloading MapleRoyals
    5. Command prompt: ipconfig /flushdns
    6. Disabling Windows Defender

What did work was borrowing someone else's computer and downloading MapleRoyals there. So it seems the problem is computer-specific. At least I saved my FM spot.

Any suggestions to lift this unwarranted curse on my MapleRoyals laptop of choice would be appreciated! >:(

I receive the same error, although using a mobile hotspot does work. My wifi ISP and phone provider are different companies..

I found the solution. I believe your machine is pointing to the wrong CDN or IP for MapleRoyals, you'll need to update or remove the entry in your hosts file.

    On Windows:
    1. Open Notepad as Administrator:
      • Search for Notepad, right-click, and select Run as administrator.
    2. Edit the Hosts File:

      • Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\, open the hosts file, and either correct or remove the MapleRoyals entry.
    3. Should be fixed

Andy best guild master! This worked. I don't even remember adding that line to hosts.

Note that if the hosts file doesn't appear in the folder at first, "All Files" needs to be selected instead of "Text Documents".

Hmm doesnt seem to be fixed. Perhaps maybe is because Im from Singapore using Singtel? Is there a fix for that yet?

You would have to contact Singtel, that's a separate issue

Are you sure you are facing the exact same error as per this thread?
(please refrain from mixing up the error messages)
