Title pretty much: and for HP not MP just to be clear (Olaf pls) Now that mages can get HP from Rose Garden like every other class, excluding mages from Reuel's seems kind of arbitrary. Would love to hear y'all's thoughts/opinions!
I support this 100%! Would be nice if it were a bit easier to get a bs to the thresholds needed for VL without spending a fortune. My VL group and several others have had to cancel runs many times because there just isn't enough bishops out there that are able to VL. The hp requirement is a big factor.
2 Things I think that are important to remember though (in case it gets implemented): mages have much easier time finishing the quests (because they got 4th job ult). F/P and BS pretty much have no way of killing nintos other than magic claw (which might require a change in case this gets implemented? sounds way too painful unless you kill with another char).
A couple of ideas I have to address these valid concerns: LHC totems are dropped at a reduced rate when mage ultis deal most of the damage. Apply the same principle to the drop rate of Reuel drops (although if this implemented, I personally think it would be fair for mages to be able to get the same 20-50 HP daily as other classes, but honestly I'll take a nerfed Reuel's over no Reuel's if it comes down to it) If it's not possible to remove mobs with elemental immunities out of the quest pool for mages, change how forfeiting the quest works. Currently if you forfeit Elixir of Life, you'll get the exact same quest the next day. Change it so it actually rerolls into another variation of the quest. It sucks to lose out on a day of Reuel's, but again, nerfed Reuel's > no Reuel's
I think that 20-50 hp a day for a mage would be too op regardless of the quest, mages hp goal is much lower than other classes, thus they should receive less hp for each quest. About the drop rate nerf, does sound good, it might also be ok to leave it as it is and let mages get the quests done easier, IDK how easy it is to implement it but thats for the developers to decide.
I don't think 20-50 HP daily would be too OP for a few reasons: There's no difference between what mages and other classes receive from RG daily (20 HP). If mages getting HP was too OP, why no restriction here? I guess there's the opportunity cost of getting vials instead of totems, but if we're going to talk about opportunity cost: The alternative to Reuel's daily quest is using AP resets. Mages have the worst washing ratios when using AP resets compared to every other class (+15 HP for -20 MP). One could argue that this will lead to fewer people using AP resets, and I would argue: good. AP resets suck and it's one of the main incentive for vote abusers. I say this as someone who has spent 14-15b washing my bishop for VL Mage HP goal is definitely lower than other classes, but that's true for Shadowers as well with Meso Guard and they don't have any nerfs on how much HP they can receive daily (nerf Shad) HP isn't fundamentally OP; it's just a check to see whether or not you can do content. When everyone besides Dark Knights pretty much use Elixir and Power Elixir to heal all or nothing, the number past the minimum requirement for any given content doesn't really matter, it just becomes a matter of luxury. I want to make it clear though: please allow Mages to do Reuel's Elixir of Life in any capacity. I would hate for staff to reject this idea based on "too much HP" and want to reiterate that nerfed Reuel's is better than no Reuel's
