As the thread name states, I was wondering if Mapleroyals community would like to try forum-based roleplaying. I have quite a lot of ideas in mind, but will probably only bring out one or two of them. So ye If you have any questions about what forum-based roleplaying is, or if you think this is a good/bad idea, then please let me know. kthxbai
Never heard of something like this before. Care to share an example of how a scenario would play out?
I've only seen twitter and tumblr kind of roleplay before, so I'm interested to see what kind of format you had in mind for forums
I've participated in Role play groups on dA, I guess you'll make a scenario to start off and we'll go with it? Curious for what you have in mind...But I'd love to join, Haven't role played for awhile.
First of all, thank you for all the positive feedback! For those who wanted extra information, here's what I was thinking for forum roleplaying. Forum roleplaying is where you control a character in a given setting, and cooperate with other roleplayers to reach the end goal either given by the storyline or created by the roleplayers. Think of it like Dungeons and Dragons, except that it's text-based and the players have a little bit more control over the story. If that explanation isn't very clear, here's an example of a roleplay I do on the other forum. EXAMPLE After observing the situation and seeing more feedbacks (both good and bad), I will post the OOC of the first roleplay, where one can discuss out of character related topics and post applications to be accepted into the roleplay.
Another way of putting forum RP: Think of it as interactive story writing. You and a group of others all take turn in creating a scene, based off of a loose idea- a plot given, a scenario, a setting. Each person has their individual character and you can interact with everyone just as you would in a story, except the ending isnt predetermined because you're creating it as you go.
