Title. The current drop rate is an estimated 20% when it should really be guaranteed. Hero's Will is an essential skill that should not be possible for a small group of people to gatekeep this hard. One reason (and perhaps the only reason) why some people might oppose this change is that they have hundreds of Miniature Pianus stockpiled from prolific Pianus hunting and don't want to see the price of the item drop. Please vote in the poll to let the Pianus hunters of this server know what you think about them and their livelihood. Thank you.
Your poll is kinda stupid, you imply the only opinion you can have on this matter is yours unless you are a pianus hunter. I'm not a pianus hunter, but think the current situation is fine. Paying 40m to unlock a skill that isn't very high on most peoples priority list (not saying it's not important) doesn't feel like something completely wrong to me. Compare it to the shad skill tree for instance: unlocking smoke screen costs you 20 steel plates, which equates to 60m on a lucky day. The cost of skill books for necessary skills can go way higher, which have a chance to fail as well. Especially considering that multiple people can lift of of 1 miniature and you can get friends along with you to make sure you get what you need, it is completely fine in it's current state imo
you can't really get 2 people to unlock hw of 1 mini pianus, not even 1 person unless you got 2 mages (at least I couldn't).
afaik there are a few ppl who are camping pianus, and raised the price of miniatures from 35 to 70+. (For example, one of them works from home and has lots of time hunting pianus. But she’s nice and gives free kills or certificates to ppl.) I am against the idea of increasing the drop rate tho. Even if the drop rate is increased to 100%, they could still dump 100 miniatures a week and sell the rest at 70m+. A better way is to gather a few people and join the pianus slaughter if it is profitable enough. Otherwise just buy them at the market price cuz 145m isn’t much (2 miniatures).
Trio mage should be around 1.5 players worth (60 pieces). I haven't tried quad mage but that might be close
make sense, but like, not a lot of players could do quad mage to get will. for someone without mage it could take like 4 runs.
20 Steel Plates can be obtained self-sufficiently through regular gameplay. You have the option to collect them by farming Iron Hogs as well. It is not possible for other players to prevent you from getting your own Steel Plates. Assassinate 30 is expensive, but you still have the option to obtain it through regular gameplay. It is not possible for other players to prevent you from entering GPQ. Horntail books are expensive, and it IS possible for other players to severely limit your ability to battle Horntail, but at least a single Manon kill can be shared with many people at once. Miniature Pianus is uniquely easy to hold a monopoly over. I don't think I'm wrong about this. I was about to add the option "I have not been affected by people who routinely hunt Pianus" but that sounds a lot like having no opinion. The other option would be "I have been positively affected by people who routinely hunt Pianus" and nobody is fucking voting for that. Even Pianus hunters are negatively affected by other Pianus hunters.
I believe they're already randomized by like +-20% (and have been for a while) but this is clearly not working. It would have to be more like +-50%. And even then, this would only work under the assumption that Pianus hunters are checking only a few times a day at dedicated times. No. They have mules parked in the Pianus map, presumably to surf through the channels at semi-regular intervals. This is the level of dedication it takes to find this boss right now.
Spoiler: The more you know! Normally, I'd say that any boss with a respawn time above 8 hours is not spawning enough but there are 2 of them so I really can't complain too much. It is annoying to have to find a Pianus, even without other people constantly hunting them. Last time I needed to hunt one, I didn't notice any other hunters but I still needed to surf for about 2 hours with 10~15 minute breaks between surfs. If I was doing it for the miniature Pianus, I would have just bought one in the FM and I would have been happy to do so. Why? Two common money-makers are: - Selling leech - APQ + Selling Apples Either one will easily get you 70m+ per hour. So an hour of work = 1 miniature pianus. That certainly beats the 2 hours of channel surfing to find one for a 20% chance (according to OP, anyway) of it dropping.
Maybe delete the clock timer or increment the time in order to finish it without mule or help, will be a good fixed for everyone who's missing a 2nd miniature
The issue is not that it costs too much. The issue is that there is a monopoly. Here is a hypothetical situation: Let's say that a small group of people have collaborated together to summon Zakum in every channel and simply leave the boss alive. Obtaining skill books and Zakum Helmets is now impossible. No one can enter unless they pay 70m for the occupants to leave. Is this ok? If it is not ok, then what is drastically different between that situation and this one?
Ever heard of a Scarlion Hat? Jokes aside, it's not a monopoly because no player can stop others from hunting a Pianus or Zakum. This player can keep mules in the Pianus room but I can do that too and they can't stop me. Team Rocket can organize some scheme whereby they occupy all Zakum rooms but they would need so much time and coordinated manpower but all it takes is for one other person to click the NPC first to ruin their evil plans. The real point I was trying to make is that if somebody wants to waste their time going through all this effort to hunt every single Pianus by sacrificing time that they could otherwise spend on anything else (sleep, work/studying, hobbies, exercise etc.) to sell me a Miniature Pianus at 70m instead of me hunting for one myself, then I consider myself the real winner in this transaction... BY FAR!
They camp bosses for NX and other drops. Monopolizing miniatures is just a bonus. Apparently people still could afford 70m ea miniature for will.
I stand by the idea that it should be reasonably possible to do all solo content in the game without being forced to buy items or service from someone else. And with the exception of Hero's Will (and the Toad Oil required for NT prequest) it mostly is. It is stupid that the Ironman guild cannot assemble a Horntail squad because most ironmen don't have Hero's Will despite being more than strong enough to kill Pianus. You can mock people who are nolifing to maintain their stranglehold over Pianus, but if they're suffering, then everyone else is suffering too and at some point we have to put our foot down and say that this shit has gone on for long enough.
1. I would like to see the drop rate to be increased to something like 40% because other than Hero's Will there're other quests that rely on pianus: Carta the Sea Witch, Certificate of Dragon Squad, and our beloved Olaf. If the demand for miniature pianus can be fulfilled faster, there's more room for other quests and less barrier for questers and also card collectors. 2. 12.8-19.2 hours and 19.2-28.8 hours of the respawn time are totally fine to me, and it's fair to have players take their strategies hunting pianus. But here is my concern, How fair it is if a bot camps in the cave and wipes through all the channels at a ~15 minutes interval? what's the chance this is/was actually happening? Since just recently staff has determined he's a legit player after 5 months of my report, I think it's fine to bring it up publicly. (Thanks GMs' efforts on this report) Over my time doing quest medal on 6 characters, roughly between Nov 2023 and Jun 2024, I have been seeing this player afk in the cave and cc searching pianus. There're a lot of signs that I found so intricate that I couldn't stop myself to be very very paranoid: Spoiler - never responded to any player's whisper or all chat, even a single "hi", or "i no good english" (I know this from myself and conversations with other players) - only respond when you start KSing pianus, the only things he'll repeatedly type are "?", "KS?", "report", "87", nothing else - what's so funny, just a few weeks ago, the one who knew about KS was KSing another player's pianus which happened to spawn when both players were camping at the same channel (idk how exactly this happened tho) - more than a half year of farming pianus (if not a whole year) - when it's the day of him hunting pianus(and usually it is), he keeps hunting for at least 10 hours long, doing nothing else (by /find ign, 99% of the time either he was in the cave or was ccing) - by solely killing pianus, train a paladin from lv 15x all the way to lv 199 - do TC skele leech on bishop (smoothly, non-stop) while having paladin click thousands of gacha in kerning and then kill mobs (smoothly, non-stop) which were summoned by random guys, worth mentioning that the movement pattern was exactly the same as killing Blood Booms everytime he finished a pianus - if there's mob in the cave, keep re-buffing and using Heaven's Hammer every 2-3 minutes for the whole 2 hours until pianus spawns Reading until here, it's okay to think I'm just a toxic player who loves to stalk and disturb others. But -> think about this, every game event that's visible to normal players is related to the client handling packets, and therefore it's programmable. So what is the chance of the scenario being exactly like: the botter just sit nearby his keyboard while running the script to hunt pianus, which can ignore all the normal players but when certain events have happened (e.g. a GM appears, or events that's out of the consideration of the script), it then needs to notify the botter in some way. Well it might not very profitable even for the most professional pianus hunter, but but how about if you are beyond a pro and just run a script to actually farm it? @EastWindow 不知道你對這個feedback有沒有甚麼想法?
