This will never improve the environment for low-level leeching. Because no one will stick with low-level leeching for a long time. Once they accumulate a certain amount of mesos, they will inevitably transition to higher-level leeching, such as ulu or skele leeching. After all, they can earn much more mesos in the same amount of time. After Goby Leech was nerfed, the Ice Valley 2 map is now at full capacity. These mages, who have no cost other than their level, seem like the perfect candidates for low-level leeching. So why aren't they doing it? And if they won't, why do we assume that other new players, who are also beginners, will keep engaging in low-level leeching?
This is just exactly what I've said. Low level leech should be opened up as an optional meso source for newer players who don't start the game with rushing in 3 brawlers or 6 f/p mages. IDK what are you trying to debate here. Didn't you see the existence of goby & last hit leech has eliminated all kinds of low level leech? I literally saw end game players when they wanted to start mage farming they went for goby.
People will just buy jr.wraith/wraith leech. cpq1 will still be dead. matt killed cpq2 when he made the exp shit, so making cpq1 more active is bullshit. Matt revert the cpq2 exp changes, i would do that pq but since its shit i used to buy goby leech. Cpq2 used to be a perfect way for players to go from 51-70, now i tell people to vote->sell APR -> buy leech lol
I recently bought a ton of low-level leech instead of goby because I was buying for groups of 4+ at a time and had zero difficulty finding a seller at any given moment (albeit I think most only had mw10 instead of mw20, but if beginner leechers are the focal point here then I don't think mw level is really that relevant). To my knowledge, low level leechers also don't have a difficult time finding buyers, at least from what I've gathered from talking to a few, so I think the market for it has always been somewhat fine. Also to be fair IV2, ulu, and other high profile spots are always absurdly crowded at the beginning of events. In my opinion, this recent change to leeching is a net negative. Goby leechers lose out on their investment, would-be goby buyers are now likely more inclined to buy low level leech rather than CPQ leech for mw, and the ones that don't care about mw and decide to buy CPQ leech instead are still likely washing and can't participate even if they wanted to, so I doubt actual CPQ engagement will improve for new players looking to CPQ for fun or nostalgia. I also don't think the chance at rolling a 6+ int necklace is enough incentive for older players to return to CPQ because most likely benefit more from spending their time doing other content. Even if farming for high value necklaces is worth it for some, I think many of these players would likely farm it by solo multi-clienting so newer players are still left in the dust. Maybe I'm just being short sighted, but these are my initial thoughts on this change.
Honestly the x2 XP for certain PQs event was a great way to engage low level players and breathe some life into these PQs. They should make it permanent, now that we're in this situation.
Low level Bishop leech is (imo) very slow and boring, takes many hours, and requires multiple characters leeching to be efficient. A lvl 120 Bishop with basic gear can immediately start selling FTP1 leech, so there is not a huge gap between those who are able to sell low and mid-level leech. The amount of effort, preparation, and funding needed to properly set up Goby leech is substantial and justifies the higher amount that they are able to charge. Now higher-level players will be increasingly reliant on mage farming, which worsens inflation.
