    Hello everyone, :)

I was just wondering if I could get opinions on what I should focus on equipment/gear wise? I'm not funded in any way shape or form. This is my first character on my first account! Also, since it's my first person should I worry about 'HP washing'? I know I'll end up making more characters in the end, I just wanna make sure I don't feel like my first one was a waste of time :p

Any other tips and/or tricks would be appreciated.

Oh, also before I forget, I suppose it'd help to know what I plan on being right? I'm a mage and as soon as possible I'm choosing I/L.

First off, welcome. I started not long ago too, so the feels are strong
(I'm not 100% understanding of Mapleroyals yet, so if I say anything wrong, someone feel free to correct me)
Gears in mapleroyals can be highly above average when collected as drops (EG. my level 30 shirt is clean 7 DEX, instead of the usual 1 DEX). So use this to your advantage to cover secondary stats or just to increase your damage, or at least that's what I'm going to do since my bandit isn't dexless. So the extra DEX really helps me to add more to luk since.
For mages, I don't think HP washing is as necessary, considering Magic Guard. So your MP is pretty important.

See, I didn't know that little fun fact about the above avg. drops, so thank you! I've looked at (and currently using) that guide but as I was reading the equipments part, I got the sinking feeling it was for someone a little bit more funded than myself. I'm level 23 right now, and I'm still wearing everything I started with... I feel like I could be stronger? Or at least wearing something better,

Welcome to Royals , starting as a mage is a great first choice. I recommend just going luckless and adding all your ap to INT. Change your weapon at lvl 35 to Maple Staff and Lama staff at 43. Truthfully, i only changed my weapon and nothing else. Meso is not difficult to come by. Selling AP Resets and npcing equips from monsters will add up to a sizaeble amount of meso once you hit 120. Change your wep again at 64 to a shiny wand. From there , you may want to get a zakum helm.

To add on, only get a scrolled shiny wand. maybe a tma 95 and above. It will last you till 130. Everything else is clean. I wore my lvl 0 shorts and shirt till 8x or 9x

Okay, thank you so much! I was worried that since I haven't played in so long, that I wouldn't be able to remember all the stuff that was for LUKless mages. Now I just need to focus on getting to a high enough level to start PQ'ing, I miss that the most!

Also, is questing a big thing on this server or no? Maybe if someone has any quests they'd suggest for any items / fast exp?

Training is pretty much the fastest way to grind. Most quests aren't worth the time going out of your way to complete them.

I/L best mage ;) definitely go lukless, you'll regret it later otherwise. And don't worry about funding - by the time you need it, you'll be raking in the mesos! Before 130, the only item you really need that's expensive is the lv70 Elemental Wand 3, and you should have more than enough to buy one by then.

One thing to point out, by going I/L you'll probably want a HS mule to sell leech. This means running two clients at once, which I've heard can be troublesome if you use a mac, though I'm not sure exactly.

[edit] I almost forgot, welcome to the server :D

Thank you everyone for welcoming me! :3

Just figured I'd use this thread to post all my random questions I have while playing. I hope that's alright but I don't see the sense in posting a different thread every time lol. So with that being said...

    1. Kerning PQ allows pretty much any level to do the party now? (It's seriously been a very long time since I've played!)
    - So should I bother doing the PQ while I'm only level 28?

    2. Are there any items to keep/hoard on this server? Like, back on another PS I played everyone was always buying certain ETC items or only a few scrolls (most others were considered useless).

    1. No, don't bother. Horrible XP, horrible rewards
    2. Keep Power Crystal Ores and scrolls that cost a good amount. If you need a price guide for scrolls, check my signature.

Welcome to the server! I'd suggest you spending the nx points you get from voting on TP rocks. These are really wanted among the players and you could easily sell them 2-2,5m ea (I think it was 2,5k nx for a bundle of 6) and you can get 18 TP rocks with the daily vote, which is potentialy 36m/day (if u sell all of them 2m ea) In comparison AP resets worth 3,100 nx (600 nx more) and people buy\sell them for only 10m.

    Welcome to Royals! :D
Starting out as a mage is great! As it's not difficult to fund. And someone has already pointed out, int all the way, Maple weapons blah blah.

For your own eqs, I recommend that you make your own robe as Female Int robes aren't as easy to find and may be costly.
You can slowly upgrade one by one as you get funds :). And if you plan on making new characters next time (and may possibly require HP washing) get the normal Maple shield, lower level gloves & earrings, lvl 20 bathrobe.
Also we can't forget that they should be good stats!

If you want to Fund, there are a few ways.
(excuse me for copying and pasting from an old reply)

My recommendation is to save up to 30k nx and buy the 35 gacha tickets.

    Gacha Locations:
Mushroom Shrine/Zipangzu: Tons of useful 30% scrolls, Purple Gaia Cape (worth a bit), Chaos Scroll (easily 360m)
NLC: White Scroll (easily 380m), Stonetooth sword (worth a bit), random 10% scrolls (1m~3m ish),
some iTCG items (guide here): http://royals.ms/forum/threads/itcg-guide.14403/
Kerning (recommended if funded imo): Pink Gaia Cape (2 att 170m++, 3att 280m++, 4att~9att, you need to get lucky though), thief scrolls, GFA 30%/70%, Dragon Sleeves (With decent attack states though, 55+ or higher) BEWARE though you will get crappy thieves EQs.
Showa (recommended if well funded): Shield M.ATT 60%, Sky Skis (With decent attack states though, 97+ or higher), Maple Leaf (for yourself as it is untradeable)

If you are too low (in terms of level) to Gacha,
I'd recommend selling Tele rocks for 2m each. Much cheaper cost of nx imo.
FYI: I believe it's level 50 that you can use Gacha Tickets.
If you really want.. AP reset for 10m each.

I only know theses spots low level farming.
Platoon Chronos (40+): GFA 60% (5m-ish), Maple Shield (500k~1m-ish), Ester shield (depending on stats)
Master Chronos (45+): Helm for Dex 60% (11m-ish)
Coolie Zombies (50+): I believe it's a good spot for training, easy exp and their etc drops. One stack of 200 can sell for 1m.
Slimy (GS2, 55+): Great training spot but very packed, drops quite an amount of EQs. Good pirate top stats can sell for quite a bit clean. The rest you can NPC them. Not sure if Black Crystal Ore are still booming or not but if they are, they go for a bit as well.
Miner/Minor Zombies: Drops regular zombie tooth (orbis etc) and as well as Zombie Golden Tooths (1.5m-ish per), and EQs.

Why would you HP wash as a I/L Mage?
