Any people here who did this quest after monster card released? I recently came back to this game after years and I found out my BM has 5/5 monster cards for Lycanthropes. Also 5/5 for Male Boss and like 4k ETCs on some mule somewhere.
Reviving this 5 year old thread to ask: if you use a different character to kill the lycans, does the IL mage with the quest have to be in the same map? Or channel?
I'm pretty sure I tested and it worked, but the effort of moving 2 characters around wasn't worth it for me so I ended up just killing the rest on IL
(Oops the question is about in the same channel or not. The reply is actually kinda off topic.) I can confirm that party members’ killing would drop heart. Also worth noting that mage ult farming is very low efficiency, because Lucans spawn much less. At first I farmed on my 2 mages, one on top and one on the bottom, but no heart after 3 hours. When I come on my shad, spawn was obviously faster. I took off my shad’s equips leaving a beginner’s dagger and use steal. It took me 30 min to get the heart. Also can confirm that you can use steal on the same mob tens of times but still get the heart. New IL players may ask shad friends for help, or buy steal service.
That's the best way to do it. There's something weird with mob spawn so if no Lycans in a channel, you need to kill a mob on the bottom platform for them to spawn.
Basically what Sylafia said Do Wolf Territory 4 Start by clearing the bottom 2-3 White Fangs, after 5s-6s there should be 1 Lycanthrope spawn on each level (this is assuming a fresh map with no recent kills), typically 3 total, kill and then cc and start over. Typically you will only see 1 Lycanthrope at the top and if you just CC your way through thats probably not gonna be as fast. I completed my I/L quest with this method in about 30-40min. I also use the same method to kill Lycanthropes for the HP quest drop as well, its fairly fast per my own exp. Hope this helps.
