Can we close all threads on the market section that hasnt been bumped for 1-2 years? Threads from as far back as 2015 left open being bumped by 1 day old accounts is a bit of a meme in our community at this point. I'm not suggesting we lock these threads, only change them from open to closed so that people still have the option to reopen if their older threads becomes relevant again. Autoclosing all threads made by banned accounts would be nice too.
Yes, i just mean the prefix. please look at this for an example of what i mean. locking it could be an option but i dont want to create a scenario where theres extra workload put on staff whenever someone wants it unlocked I'm hoping that most of these irrelevant threads might be left alone if they are clearly marked as closed.
Most, if not all of the time, the price and listing date of the items/services are in the same post. With the manpower that staff has, it is impractical and unjustifiable for Players to expect Staff to devote resources just to amend something that Players should be looking out for.
I agree that players should look out for these things themselves but as old threads keeps getting bumped i can only assume that not every player agrees/refuses to look further than the big red "OPEN" prefix. What im suggesting would make it crystal clear to players which items are and are not for sale. As for the staff resources ill have to agree that going through every thread would be impractical unless they have some tools to change prefixes for a bunch of threads at once/does it automatically depending on how its set up.
I can mass adjust multiple threads, but would be around 20 threads per selection due to page view Will take some time to clear up the marketplace threads Note: I previously closed some of the older ones but took quite some time I probably would [Close] all of the threads till (current year -1) date Meaning in 2025, I would close the threads that are only active back in 2024
It was something like this i had in mind if it was possible, preferably it would be automatic so there would not be more workload pushed your way though.
I don't think it's possible to automate this since we are still on Xenforo 1 Most of the plugins available now are meant for Xenforo 2
I see! thanks for clarifying. i still think that every post pre 2024 should be closed but if the tools aint there i guess it will have to wait until/if we upgrade.
