Sometimes -2147287038, sometimes the client just freezes and DC the char, sometimes the client just disappears without any notice. It happens when I am at VL, DOJO, CWKPQ, Scarga, etc. I reclient before the runs. If the client crashes and I open again, it could crash again in a few minutes (CWKPQ, DOJO). It happens on different chars. Sometimes two clients are on, but only one of them crashes (the one doing contents); sometimes a few clients are on, and two/three chars are buffing/attacking, only one client closes. NVIDIA graphics is disabled when I’m mapling; locale is set to US/English; screen at 60 Hz. As the error code of -2147287038 suggests outdated game files, please do a clean install first Uninstall old game files (delete the old folder), restart PC, reinstall
hi ty for the reply. I did it before the vl run, and still the client froze. This time it didn't DC right away, but I could still use skill and hear the sound in game. A few minutes later the clients closed.
After the VL DC, I was doing HP quests. 2nd DC: ~5 min later (farmed like 15 etcs), no notice 3rd DC: PC rebooted. ~15 min later (doing 2nd hp quest), no notice 4th DC: PC rebooted. notice: I am still able to clear auf, VL, etc without DC. But sometimes DC hits in streaks.
update: before reset I did scarga, and afk with the clients open. a few hours later, the 4 clients on this PC were still alive, and I scarga again. I was able to sign and go into the boss map. But the clients killed themselves one by one (after 6 min, 20 min and 30 min, got SS but have problem uploading).

Hi Dave, I updated all the drivers via Intel® Driver & Support Assistant on Saturday (and also disabled anti virus software, changed locale to UK/English, installation path English only, screen freq set to 60Hz, etc.). No client freeze/crash so far except for VL runs.
Do you know of anyone else, such as your buddies or guildmates facing the same error code while at bossing?
Hi Dave, no. The first technique help thread was updated. His problem was not solved. He attributed the problem to intel 14th gen cpu, but I’m not sure if that’s the problem (also 14th gen cpu tho). I’ve VLed a few months last year without this issue. Not sure if it’s because some royals client update, or because some Windows update or driver update that leads to the problem. After the driver update (as mentioned Apr 7, 2025) the client does not crash AFK, scarga, toad, krex, etc. (before that crash happened in these scenarios). VL crashed twice (and I stopped VL on it so no more counts). HT crashed once (same).
Is there any difference using WZ? And have you tried using 1 folder for the game instead of 4 to see the error still occurs?
WZ is less stable than IMG and I haven’t use it since I began to VL. Yes, it freezes using 1 folder while I multiclient.
The problem outside VL resumes after the Balrog patch. I recently let the manufacturer's customer service reinstall windows 11 and clean the dust, but the problem still exists (exactly same ways of crash). Spoiler: also Also changed locale, update all drivers, set screen refresh rate to 60 Hz, etc. Just a moment ago, Client 1 closes and shows the same notification: Client 2 freezes (the left one. Note that the servertime on the two clients are different): Client 3 and 4: disappear without notification. Guess we are gonna live with the problem for a while.. Spoiler: well Well, I actually bought a PC that could install windows 7 on to play royals.. Update: I installed windows 10, no client crash on windows 10 so far.
