Yes I am using lolwut on windows 8.

My mapleroyals.exe file location is: c\nexon\maplestory\

Yet I am receiving this error. I have tried multiple times.
Sometimes i manage to launch the game.
Most of the time, I don't.
Thus this thread.

Please help me! I am so sorry for being so annoying!

 

Might you didn't download the new map.wz file? The staff said that people can dc in certain maps without the new file.

 

Hi, the problem is I can't even launch the game.
No it has nothing to do with the server being down.
John just said in the chatbox that it is back up right?
I went to try and launch the game again and I am getting the same error code.

Hi it's me again.

So after installing the new setup, i no longer have to use lolwut to launch the game. So far it was going well. Sometimes i need to launch the game twice.
Right now, I AM STILL GETTING THIS ERROR CODE AND I CANNOT LAUNCH THE GAME!

I get this error all the time. I have windows 8, but I don't use lolwut. I just keep launching until it works. Sometimes I need to restart my comp if my computer has been on for hours...but that's it!

 

Download the appropriate Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package onto your computer.

Make sure your computer doesn't have an older version on it first. Go to add or remove programs and look for an older version of Visual C++ whether it's 2005, 2008 or whatever and uninstall it.

When you install it try running MapleStory.

If it doesn't work, re-install Maplestory and it should definitely work.

Close: 2,147,483,647 is the max

 

For those running on windows 8 I suggest using windows 98 compatibility settings. That fixed virtually all problems I had.
