Anyway, very sorry for all victims of FakeMage :'(.
No reason to put him on the list since he was just banned for major vote abuse. He won't be scamming people anymore. Not on those accounts anyway.

Of course you "don't remember doing that", FakeMage. Not remembering is the go-to excuse for most scammers here.

This guy may be responsible for the scamming of atleast a half dozen players that we know of. Very likely more.

To @Fakemage. You were a weak player and an even weaker person. Good riddens you rat

We don't have to prove anything to you! Prove.
We won't change. Not unless we are of one people. One. One. One. One race. One. One. One. The Unity will allow us to move beyond these petty concerns and deal with the major problems at hand. You want to be a part of that, don't you? Part. Don't.

It turns out this could have been punished more harshly with a ban or at least a multi-month suspension, you were right.

Also, one is inflation of in-game currency, mesos, which ruins the game for others. This I would consider is doubly worse, because the in-game currency scam deprives someone else of their mesos.

FakeMage has just been caught ban evading again, but unfortunately this was not until he had scammed another victim.

Although we are doing our best to try and weed out dangerous players before they have victims, there is only so much we can do. We need the community to help us by ideally not doing these drop trades anymore. But, if you really must do a drop trade (seriously, don't though), then do your own due diligence process first (a bit like the one you use for trades worth over 5 billion), where you are finding out about the person before you make the trade. For example, what are their mains? Can they log into these mains? Does it make sense for them to have this many APRs? Do they have a reputation they need to protect/ characters they won't want to lose? Also, please do full screen video of the trade (check out this guide if you don't know how). Although we cannot refund your lost items, we can ensure the scammer is punished. You can then also post them here on the community blacklist to warn the community.

Please pass this message onto your guildies and friends, we need everybody to be aware that players like this are around.

It is my understanding that because of the way the cash shop inventory is coded, we have not yet been able to increase the number of APRs per trade.

    Is IP ban not effective/possible?

We IP ban of course, but unfortunately most homes internet connections now days get dynamic IP addresses rather than static IP addresses. This means that the ISP will periodically allocate them a new IP address. Most people can also get a new IP address allocated simply by rebooting their router (a technique we often recommend to innocent people who were randomly allocated an IP address that somebody else had previously been banned on).

We have our methods of catching out ban evaders, including FakeMage, but it's a frustrating and ongoing cat and mouse game, hence my warning that we really need the community to be a lot more vigilant.

I think that one feedback about making APRs be available in stacks of 10/100 might make more and more sense.

I know telling people to not drop trade is something we all 'consciously know' we should do, but when it comes to the 1 minute per 9 you might need 20 times for the 180 APRs you might be buying. That's a solid 15-20 minutes of time "wasted" doing a tedious task.

Yes good intentions are always nice, but I think looking into why people want to drop trade in the first is a good thought as well.
