I understand that sharing accounts is forbidden. However I have a friend who is bad at jump quests and will never be able to do the Zakum jump quest in a million billion years. In GMS it was no problem, I've done the zak jump quest many times for friends and guildmates who couldn't do it. However Royals seems to be more tightly policed than GMS. That's a good thing for the most part, I think the Royals staff are doing a great job catching hackers and whatnot. And I also agree that multiple people training a single character will give an unfair advantage in terms of ranking, since normal players training a character by themselves cannot possibly compete. Now if I were to log onto the friend's account and do the jump quest for her, could this result in us getting banned? I wouldn't train her character or anything, just do the jump quest so she can fight zakum.
Yes, logging into the other person's account is the same as sharing account and is ban worthy if you are caught.
I have done the zjq for many players here on MR... Sorry but treating it like account sharing is stupid.
It may seem stupid but that is account sharing whether you agree or not. Don't get caught, that's all I'm going to say.
More like one time account lending. I can see where you are coming from, but isn't this going too far in this case? The reason account sharing is a bannable offence is because it would unfair to people who play solo. This however is a one time occurrence because some people just REALLY suck at the zakum JQ. While it's still unfair to the people who do it themselves, I argue that it is of negligible impact compared to actual account sharing. I really don't see the point of enforcing bans on this.
This is how it will go down. I will do the zjq on someone else's account. I will smega I did it. You will check it up and ban me. I will make a ban appeal. Someone in the staff will go read what the actual rules say. I will get an apology and be unbanned. :lock:
Account sharing is not mentioned in the Game Use & Restrictions (the actuall rules) at all. Account information sharing is mentioned once under Registration. In other words, account sharing is not in the actuall game rules.
I don't think you understand: that is account sharing. You are sharing your account information (username and password) to a third person, thereby transferring your right to access the game to them. So yes, it is in the actual game rules.
So where is the penalty stated then? Does it render a warning, 3 day ban, perma ban etc? Just admit you missed this in the rules add it or drop it.
No, it wasn't missed. If we missed it, that clause would not be in there. If you really want to get technical I will too. If you refute by saying there is no punishment stated, I'll invoke the "Admin/GM privilege card" I would determine that account sharing is something worth having the account deleted and/or permanently banned for.
I see what you did there. You used the "I do WTF I want cuz I'm an Admin" card. That still don't magically put it in the rules. I will stop talking to you now because if I express my opinion more I will surely get some 10x more infractions + get banned in the game and who knows maybe even get my account deleted.
Relax SAKI in the end it's ur friends problem not even u. Just do the JQ for zakum for ur friend and don't get caught by making this upheavel or have more faith in ur friends ability. U could just use a diffrent IP adres so they won't be able to pin it down to u, in the end we can all be gaming from anywhere.
team viewer lags pretty hard for you to pull off a jump quest. Also unless you go around telling everyone about it or its really obvious like a character is on like 24hrs a day lvling/grinding like mad and switching between 2 ips no one going to know or care. While the admin say its bannable offense they honestly not going to go around checking up what ip people log on their account with for no reason.
I'm guessing that one of the reasons account sharing is not allowed (apart from a character being raised by multiple people) is the risk theoretically posed to account security. Now I'd happily place a bet on Saki being 100% trustworthy, but I've come across far too many instances (mainly in GMS) of people complaining that their account has been "hacked" - ie that they've shared their account info with their bro/cuz/friend and found that their items have gone walkies. Also, if more than one person knows the login to an account, this opens up the possibility of someone claiming that their bro (or whoever) was the one who used hacks/duped items/glitch-abused while on their account. Having said that, I'm not sure why account sharing carries a heavier penalty than - for example - vote abuse, which not only gives the individual an unfair advantage over legit players but also potentially damages the economy. Back to the issue of ZJQ. If doing people's jump quests for them isn't allowed, then the alternatives would seem to be either removing the jq/making it optional or importing SoK into the server's database (unsure how feasible - or desirable - this would be). Both these moves go against making the server v.62 GMS-like.
it IS clearly in the rules.. i could see someone doing it and getting a temp ban, after a plea, based on how it was used and by whom but considering you now know its against the rules but would do it anyways.. id consider that perma ban worthy. Arguing with an admin just doesn't seem like the greatest idea to me. Especially when the rules are clearly there, YOU just don't understand them or your trying to find a loophole that doesn't exist. Everyone is capable of doing the JQ. You may not be able to rush through it really fast but practice makes perfect.. or in this case.. with enough practice you'll eventually get there. >.>
The only undetectable way I see to do this is if you go to your friends house and do the JQ for him on his own computer/connection. Otherwise there will be a noticeable change in IPs and thats a dead giveaway. but i wouldn't brag about it. >.>
I don't think anyone's in a position to say that. Personally, I don't know if I'm capable of doing it or not, but "not within the lifespan of this server" might well prove to be the case for me, although I hope it doesn't! Still, I want to *try*.
