Hey! Last couple of days I`ve noticed that my forum is not allowing some of the pictures to be viewed in my region I wonder if there`s anyone else having this issue? This is because the images are uploaded to imgur, and imgur no longer allows those from the UK to view their content

Hello Heidi, I`d like to come back to this issue with imgur and ask if it`s possible (at least from the GM team) to use different way to upload pictures? I was just trying to look up about Summer events and there`s absolutely nothing for me to see. Everything just says the exact same thing = "Content not viewable in your region"
You may wish to use a VPN instead Although Staff team can use other platforms such as postimages to upload images, we won't know if UK would block access to postimages too Unfortunately, this is not something we can predict unless UK assure us that they can exempt certain image platforms, else it's a hassle for us to re-upload for each ban they gonna implement
Hey Dave, Would it be possible to upload event post or any updates (if using pictures) in other format than imgur? I don`t mind not being able to see some equips/memes etc Just the important stuff would be highly appreciated! If not then I will have to consider downloading some sort of VPN Thanks for the reply
I can only do that if we know which websites UK is gonna block or not gonna block Also, I don't think you gonna miss out much from the shoutbox images Do you have other examples of important notices you are missing out due to the imgur block?
As I mentioned in reply above, I could not see any information from our previous Summer event uploading a screenshot this time as well EDIT: want to add that other events are not available to view either (just checked Halloween / Thanksgiving event and it looks same as mentioned Summer event)
I only noticed imgur uploads being blocked on forum. The one that you`re using for "Nanashi Mumei" picture is fine and I can see it (if thats any help)
If we use another platform, but that platform gets blocked by UK too, do you want us to re-upload again? Cause if we do re-upload, I intend to re-upload for the whole of 2025 and onwards
Is there any way they can be uploaded to the forums directly? I know there's usually the 1mb limit but any way for moderators to bypass that?
I can`t tell if UK will block another platform in the future...I was asking if it`s possible to use other format than imgur on event posts or posts that give out information that I can`t view...not to reupload everything on the forum In case that UK will block another platform,then I would kindly ask again if it`s possible to find another solution (again event posts etc...not everything)
Maybe have a text description of event posters spoilered under it instead? Then the information is available as long as forums is, and more searchable as a bonus.
I will check with Staff team if it's possible to include a spoiler of the text description under the event poster If not, I will include a postimage version of the event banners
