It always confuse me. I’m asking at the perspective of a usual regular normal player. As it is kinda hard to gain 20b 25b, I’m trying to make the most use our limited budget. Is a perfectly scrolled 1h sword (Sparta) + wa30 shield VS perf scrolled Stonetooth, which one is better ? Are the difference really big ? Maybe we don’t go to the extend of perfectly scrolled items. Let’s just say wa135 ST VS WA135 Sparta +wa20 shield. Anyone could assist to solve this…. Mystery?
By pure DPS numbers: 2h sword > (~3%) 1h Blunt Weapon > (~3% again) 1h Sword, from what I remember. The main advantage of going with 1h is that you get guardian, which allows you to ignore 25% of attacks (so you get knocked back less, or occasionally it'll save your life if you do Von Leon which most players I don't think run). It's a nice QoL skill. 1h BW is higher dps than 1h sword. However, 1h BW requires speed infusion (19% DPS buff, vs 9.5% for 2h sword/most 1h swords). If you choose 1h sword you do have the option of swapping to 2h if you prefer for some content (at the cost of needing to buy 2 swords AND a shield, oof), and 1h sword allows flame sword which is the only hero/pally weapon that is at max speed without Speed Infusion, so good for solo content.

On what you say, then it would have bring out another question: The reason you recommend Flame sword is because it is faster? Would you also recommend Sparta? *As i figured Sparta would have a higher WA. *i did a little research : Flamesword speed 4 and Sparta speed 5. Doesnt it mean Sparta is slightly better in term of speed & WA? Thanks in advance ! <3
Lower speed is faster. Booster is -2 speed, and SI is another -2 (the only stacking buff in the game!), but speed has a minimum of 2. This means that with SI, any weapon with 6 or less speed will all end up capped at the same speed, but only 3/4 speed weapons will end up at cap without SI (afaik there's no 2 speed weapons in the game?) Speed is massive - it acts as a multiplier on your damage, which is why sky ski is the endgame spear despite being 13 WA below fault. So without SI, flame sword far outperforms sparta or carabella. With SI, higher attack is better, but crushed skull outperforms 1h swords, so if you consistently will have SI you want skull (or 2h sword, if you don't care about guardian). And if you don't consistently have SI, you'll want flame sword for the speed
