I'd be supportive of this, as long as it was in the server's best interest. It seems like if it was a good idea for the server though, it would have been done already.

All this discussion of "buying" RP and ensuring you don't spend more than you HAVE to is uncomfortable to me. It just doesn't seem right -- the idea of donations is that you are supporting the upkeep costs of the server. And really, you're getting a pretty good deal here. Unlike the real Maplestory, Mapleroyals is not pay to win. You have good access to all the features that in the real Maplestory you would have to pay for. All you have to do for that stuff is to vote for the server each day. Is it that bad that you have to donate at least 5 pounds to get some RP? Think about the server, and Matt who has put so much effort into it and who has to ensure the server costs are paid. Don't just think of yourself.

I mostly like the Mapleroyals community, although I am a bit over the me me me attitude. Some people are quick to complain about lag, etc, despite this server being completely free (although lets be honest. The uptime is pretty good for such a populated server. Making a server scalable is a challenge - having a server cope with 1000 players on at a time is much more than twice as challenging as making a server cope with 500 people). It is donations that pay for better hardware, which would be able to improve the server.

Had to get that off my chest. I'm sure others feel the same way about it. Note that this is not aimed at any individual. Just as a whole at the fact that people seem to forget what the point of a donation really is.

And for all those that don't have access to money for whatever reason, the very first reply is the best solution to the problem that requires zero extra effort from the staff. There's no reason for this server to implement their own version for the small handful of people it could benefit, just because they're too lazy to use the pre-existing alternatives.

In my opinion, if such a thing could actually be profitable for the server, and thus contribute to the server in certain aspects, it is graceful.
Also, maybe there could be Royal Points, and Donator Points which would have different and more "valuable" things ? (Still, not in a pay-to-win way)

I really don't see how it could be profitable for the server.

I don't know how the ads system works, but if it would be profitable than that's my opinion.

Speaking about this topic, I wish there were more than just one way, which is Paypal, to donate. Like, in order to donate through Paypal you have to go through a long process if you're mainly using debit cards and these 90% of the time need to be confirmed and its taking 2 days for them to send a code, and you need to have something like your own card account (which is quite useless for debit cards) if you wanna get the code through the internet, and if you don't have a card account you need to call them, and it means that you'll have to stay on the line for like 50 minutes to get service and it's a really long process. To be honest Skrill is a lot better, you can pay through it with visa without having to register, log in or get confirmation code (at least from NexonEU).

I don't know, they have this thing when some of the cards need to get confirmed in order to add them to your account or continue with the payment. It happened to me with 3 cards already, had just one card that didn't require it. That's why I'm scared of using it, I don't wanna go through all this trouble again.

I don't think you understand. If it was that easy I wouldn't say anything. I don't know about you but when I add new cards, it asks me me to confirm and link it and that's a process that is taking 2 days and probably a phone call to the company. By the way you present it you don't need to confirm your cards but I do. So it makes things much more complicated than have a card > add it > donate. If I wouldn't have needed (got lost a bit in grammar here...) to confirm my cards be sure it would've taking me less than 30 seconds aswell... :'\ basically your example is not really related to my issue. I'd try to register a new account and pay with it I'm scared it will ask me to confirm it and then it wouldn't make that much sense because I could've done it in my other account, and I don't wanna go through all of that process again.

I think this has something to do with your bank/debit card, I just have to fill my credit card info in order to pay on the internet

If you have a PayPal account you should only need to register your card once, at least that's what I did and now I can click pay right away without any need to transfer any money to PayPal first.

Using more then 1 PayPal account seems a bit unnecessary and donating on other Royals account shouldn't be any problem.

@happyname The thing is, only Paypal do that. I checked other websites and I've never been told to confirm it. Like I said with SKRILL I can pay right away just like you would with Paypal.
That's great, but that's you. I do need to confirm it whenever I add a new one, and I also add some proofs in one of my comments. If I won't confirm it it won't let me pay with it. The reason why I I'm thinking of opening a new one is because there's an option "Register and pay" and I don't know, maybe it's different. I know that some people also have an option to pay without having an account.

Why are you switching credit card so often?

I had the exact same thing it will charge a small amount to confirm the credit card, after that you can use it normally like me,
But if I started to switch cards then I would have to do it all over again.

Because I can't put too much $ in it, I have a specific budget, and you can't add $ to it after you created it. So basically, a new one every month more or less, until it runs out. So that's why I dislike using Paypal if I have to confirm them all the time.

Ad revenue will NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER work here. The amount of time it would take for the whole server to generate 1 RP worth of money for the server would not even be worth the hassle of attempting to get it implemented here.

You can pay with paypal without confirming a card, or even having an account there. There is small text below the actual paying area which says something like 'pay without an account'.
