Collect 200 Tree Trunk from Tree Rods Mob Spoiler: Tree Trunks ETC NOTE: Stage 4b is technically OPTIONAL! 100 Forest Stones are NOT required to move on, although the 100 Tree Trunks ETC ARE required to move on. You are farming Tree Rods anyway, might as well, right? 4b.) These ETC are tradable, so you could obtain these other places, such as FM or a generous friend >.> 8.) While still with Lohd NPC, accept “Lohd? Dark Lord?” Quest 8a.) While still in “Mushroom Hill” Map, Kill 999 Mossy Mushrooms, and collect 200 Black Mushroom Spore ETC 8b.) Locate Lohd NPC and turn in “Lohd? Dark Lord?” Quest. Head to Ellin Forest: Boulder Mountain Entrance Map Spoiler: Boulder Mountain Entrance Map Location 9c.) Locate Kanderune NPC Spoiler: Kanderune NPC Location 9d.) Accept “Dangerous Rocky Mountain” Quest NOTE 1: “Dangerous Rocky Mountain” Quest does not require you to obtain any Tough Leather ETC, but a later quest requires 200 Tough Leather ETC, so I recommend collecting the Tough Leather while killing the Primitive Boar mobs. This quest is optional. Iirc the 200 spore quest also doesn't require kills, so you can just buy them to speed things up if you want.
Collect 100 Forest stone is also optional (you might aswell do it a long the way but you can continue doing other quests at the same time)
