suggesting maybe to extend the expiration date of anniversary pendant if this is not fixed, otherwise there will be a wave of apr refund requests for people needing to adjust stats.
Your balrog shoulder pad in actuality counts towards your gear. It is merely a visual bug on your client. The balrog shoulder pad looks like it doesnt count towards your gear, as your gear is redded out, your char stats appear to not change, and your even your dmg output (those red orange numbers) don't change. But if you open another client side-by-side, your dmg does change in the 2nd client. That 2nd client dmg is the correct dmg: Say a mob has 38k hp. If you do say 36,731k dmg in your original client (the dmg display as if your balrog shoulder pads had not counted towards your gear), but 38,239 in your 2nd client (the dmg display with your balrog shoulder pads counting towards your gear), the monster would ko. EDIT: It counts toward your gear, except your weapon: see below
As a side note, this is pretty much only relevant for mages as attackers generally want the off stat to equip their weapon, and due to it not being counted client side properly, their client then won't let them attack with it. Mages, however, have a free to equip weapon so shoulder pad is mostly for overall or shoes, meaning they can still attack and get full benefit from it as missing those gear pieces client side but not server side doesn't really matter
the scenario @TakeItEasy mentioned is when your weapon cannot be equipped (client-side), so your bucc uses bare fists by default. that means: 1. you're missing all wa from your weapon 2. mastery (which does not apply to bare fists) does not take effect 3. booster (which does not apply to bare fists) cannot be used (unlike mages who use ewand, where the weapon is not removed.) the same things that happen when you need mw20 to wear your weapon and get dispelled am i missing something?
Yes, actual damage is based on server-side calcs which will have you wearing the weapon, meaning you get weapon WA and mastery, but not booster (as it's a buff that client won't let you cast)
Here's a visual of shoulder bug with red knuckler and very low damage but still effectively killing mossy snail (has 54k hp). I think barehand attack speed is the same as knuckler + booster (unsure if same as si+booster) so not having booster is not an issue. (Maybe my mules can abuse this by not needing to knuckle booster anymore Tim? )
thanks for clarifying then, shoulder pad stats do count (server-side) toward your weapon. however, if you need the stats to wear it (red weapon slot), your client won't let you basic attack or cast skills that require having it equipped. for pirates, the client sees bare fists and allows you to basic attack and cast bucc skills buccs used to dc in this scenario, which i noted was fixed a while ago. so i guess this is what happens now
