I've read all people's doubts and different cases but i still would like to ask just to double check about my case.

The usage of taskbar tweaker to allow me to switch between clients by just clicking on the icon in a 1:1 action, this meaning 1 click - 1 client switch + a keyboard software that allows me to rebind also in a 1:1 action my left click button to a key of my choosing, plus other different keys for movement like in this example of my own keyboard

    .

Am i allowed to do it this way? I just want to clarify to avoid any kind of missunderstandings in the future

This is allowed if one key tap = 1 client switch, thanks for double checking with us!

    - The setup you have shown where you use one finger do hold down your mage attacks on two devices is allowed
    - You tapping on two keys at the same time with one finger to do client switches is also allowed within the current described rules.

Do note that we're not trying to encourage players to add as many devices and special keyboards or other input devices as possible to hold / tap with the outmost limits of their entire hand or foot. Please stick to reasonable amounts like your example!

    - Using the software taskbar tweaker to make client switching a one-click action is allowed as it's the same as rebinding alt + esc or alt + tab to a single key.
Do note that you may not hold down an attack or other action + the taskbar tweaker key for unlimited client switches and attacks. The other rules still apply where we will require you to click the taskbar tweaker key for every client switch

Let me tank some of that heat. I hope you find comfort in knowledge that there are more of us who think like you do.

Like I can't even believe what I'm reading in this thread. Dudes pressing 2 buttons back and forth, casting 8 ultimates at a time and somehow isn't considered a robotic play. Absolute madness.

Not to mention it would be definitely easier for admins to monitor the amount of multi clients rather than checking whether player is using foot pedals or entire freaking drum set to play the server.

Which normal person looking for a nostalgic experience will be like "yeah let me try this server out" after seeing this?

Why not? One of the defining features of MapleRoyals is that it allows multiple clients. I actually got into the game after watching videos of people playing with multiple classes at once. Compared to bossing, farming is just more appealing to me. Every playstyle has its own audience. As long as I’m not breaking any rules, why should it matter how I choose to play?

Just to make sure I understand the rules and don't get banned :)

Am I allowed to connect multiple input devices to different PCs (or VMs) and physically hold down the attack button on all of them? If the devices are small enough, can I press them all simultaneously with one hand?

To clarify: I wouldn't be switching between clients, each client would have its own dedicated input device, and I wouldn't use any external objects to help me press them all at once. Is this permitted?

are you clicking four times to cycle through both machines 4 times? because it certain looks like each set of 4 clicks you end up back on the same starting point of both screens

Haven't mage farmed in a while so just read this and want to clarify:
For reference I farm with 6 mages:

    1. Having mage ult on alt and pressing alt and esc as two different keys is only allowed if we're tapping, we can't hold down even for a second to cycle through. Isn't alt+esc banned entirely if it can't cycle through since it goes too fast for a human to be able to do alt+ esc for each client? Nevermind I guess you could tap it for each client if you're fast enough about releasing it

    2. To do 6 mage legally under the new rules I could: purchase 6 1key keyboards and link them to 6 separate vms or separate physical laptops and put the 1key keyboards together and press them at the same time? In this setup can I just keep holding them down since we're allowed to hold down attack button while attacking?

    3. Instead of alt+esc I can put mage ult on ctrl and then am I allowed to bind ctrl + click onto one key ( each click = client switch while holding mage ult ) and click on royals on the taskbar or do I need to separate this out into two keys ctrl / click and if I do need to separate out into two keys am I unable to hold down ctrl? Would I have to press ctrl and click for every single mage ult or is holding down ctrl while clicking to switch clients legal?
Or do I need to use a different key for mage ult?

    1. just keep tapping!
    2. Instead of trying to find the next loophole we encourage you to take the message behind the rules to heart: 'If you want to multiclient to such a degree, we expect you to put in more input efforts to suit that playstyle.'
Your mindset should not be: How can I achieve the same afk low effort inputs as before, but rather think about: What inputs can I comfortably do that's extra effort, but rewards me for playing this way.
    3. You may not bind your attack + client switches to one key and then hold it down as written in the rule post:
As a player you may not:
    - Bind your client switch shortcut (alt + esc) and skill or in game macro all to one key to hold down.
    - Construct any other method where the combination of your client switching and skill, in game macro or activity usage circumvents continuous game inputs by holding down input(s)

Sorry let me be more specific and ask if this would be allowed:

I search for channels where the spawns are synced or very nearly synced on ulu 1, I don't farm on any random channels, I have to make sure spawns are synced first. I don't hold down mage ult.

I have mage ult on alt and i have alt and esc each mapped to a separate foot pedal. Each time mobs spawn, put my foot down on alt and then my other foot down on separate esc pedal for 1-2 seconds to cycle through the 6 mages, then I lift both until the next round of mobs spawn.

    From your answer here:

    - rebinding alt as an attack and holding down alt esc would now be considered robotic play, which is banable
( I wouldn't be holding it down so it's not robotic play? I only hold it down for 1-2 seconds max each time mobs spawn )
    - rebinding alt + esc to one key and holding down attack and spamming that alt esc key is allowed
(Does that mean I just need to rebind one of the foot pedals to alt + esc and the other pedal to a different key to mage ult? The outcome would be exactly the same. Or do i need to press that alt+esc each time for every client/mage ult so I need to press it 6 times per mob spawn?)
    - you may use multiple PCs / VMs and have an input device (keyboard for example) for each of those game clients, and you may hold down attack for each of them. Do keep in mind you may not send the same input from one input device to multiple game clients without any sort of active client switching as seen in example 7

After re-reading everything seems like this would be allowed?

Thank you for your time Tim!

Hi, just want to make sure that my current setup is allowed for mage farming,

My setup consists of 5 separate computers, each with its own dedicated keyboard. My plan is to log into one Mage on each computer. I will be actively playing on 4 of them simultaneously to attack, and using the 5th computer strictly to collect the loot from the ground.

Please note that during the farm, the Mages constantly move around because of the mobs that spawn and attack them. Because of this, I will be fully active across all machines, manually adjusting their positions every few seconds.

I will add an image that shows my current setup (sorry for the poorly drawn image)

In your setup you should aim to press the key/ footpedal bound to 'esc' in rapid succession for your 6 client switches, not hold it down for 2 seconds to cycle through all clients.

The way you described is allowed

I can tap it sure, but then I can't line that up with spawns so I'm just tapping throughout. Seems more robotic, but okay I'll go with this.

Reading this has blown my mind - People game like this? - Holy moly I dont think any kind of speed advantage or time advantage would be worth this amount of hassle haha

Each to there own you are all magicians in your own right if you guys are playing on 5 PCs or have multiple inputs you have to manage - I am just plodding along running that one character on one machine :D

    GG haha mind blown!

I am sure I am understanding this correctly because it seems that’s what the rules specifies.

you can map ultimate to alt and esc is separate key. When the spawns happen, you hold down alt to attack then you gotta tap tap tap to cycle through and go through all your mages. I mean this should barely take a second or two

    Tim, can you confirm? Because I read the game rules as this, the issue isn’t spamming alt or esc, because in fact the default has alt as a jump which is spammable. So in the new world, if you want to multimage farm or any other multi input method, you have two choice;

    1. You can map the attack or action to alt. You can spam this in game to either continuously jumping or continuously attacking, and then you can do a separate press of the esc key to go to the next client to trigger the alt on the second client and so on. So if you want to do 8 attacks across 8 clients, you can spam plus 8 individual esc clicks.

    2. map the attack to a different key like space. You can spam this. And then remap alt+esc to a different key and press that macro 8 times.

At the end of the day the intentions is quite clear, you need an additional action per client, not just spam 2 buttons. Sure to low amount of clients click click click click click seems robotic too, but the bottom line is, the limiter on your ability to click is you. On the contrary, if you spam 2 buttons, the limiter to how much you can do isn’t your body anymore, it is your computer’s processing speed.
