So just recently the server froze, and the moment it got back up I decided to do some training since I was 9% away from leveling up to 101. I was just training away at Mr.Anchor while I wait for my friend to come and fight SG Boss with me. A few minutes later, the server lagged and I was swamped by a buttload of Mr.Anchors, and I already knew I was dead. However... When I logged it, I realised I lost 20% of my exp instead of the normal 10%. So of course I got a bit frustrated so I just used ~gm to ask how this was possible. And here is how i phrased it

"How the hell does one lose 20% from just 1 death?"

Seems perfectly fine right? No vulgarities. Well apparently for some petty reason(who knows what), GM Cyndy decided to reply me "Please mind your language" and a few other things I don't really care for because it didn't make sense, such as "you probably died when the server froze", but I was afking in GS7, unless Captain Latanica decided to take a little haunting session and rape my butt while I was afking there.

May I know, in what way, was that offensive? Yes it may seem aggressive, but hey, if that happens to you, some of you might be angry as well won't you? So is this what we're suppose to expect from our GMs? Or are we suppose to sugar coat everything we say and hold back all our angers and rage? Honestly I find this a really petty way for a GM to act. So for god sake.. please figure out what is actually justifiable to ask me to "mind my language", because I'm sure "how the hell", isn't one of them.

Oh and if anyone decides to flame at me, or side Cyndy, be all means, go ahead. We all have our rights to speak and voice our own opinions, and this is just my own.

My point here is in relation to just the thing she said "mind your language". It got me really confused because what is there to mind? And it was a mere question, just answer it, and it's done. I didn't ask for any form of compensation or what.

I personally don't see anything wrong with her saying ''mind your language'', however if it did bother you by the manner she replied towards you try to be a bit more polite. I'm pretty sure no gm would say ''how the hell did you d/c'' when asking for a re-warp. Treat people the way you want to be treated, anyways this is just my opinion.

I didn't say it was wrong, I just say it was petty to even think that was in anyway a language I should mind.

My complain is about what language should require the use of "mind your language". Clearly "how the hell" isn't one of them, and if she can't take the words "how the hell", how would you then talk to them? They are humans as well, and yes I am human too, but if we're able to commute with our friends the same way, how is it any different for player to GM communications? I sure in hell don't think Cyndy talks all sweet and sugar coated to her friends.

    This thread is pretty ironic.

Can't say why she said that, since I'm not her. However, GMs deal with a lot and it's really stressful especially when you're the only one on and you have to warp tons of people. You probably just caught her at a bad time, that's all.

The ~GM function is like a helpline for you to get in contact and ask for help and essentially for favours from people in a position to give you that help. The least you can do is to be polite if you want them to help you, it's not an Aunt Agony outlet for you to vent your frustrations. Imagine the GMs never wanting to face the ~GM function anymore because they face a torrent of rants and frustrations from people, who btw go through way tougher situations than you did, like dying 3, 4 times in a single HT run, or returning to their account to find their items or mesos missing. You merely just lost a completely retrievable additional 10% of EXP and you throw an accusatory-sounding message through the ~GM function, I'm going to have to disagree with what you did.

Well we all know and she should too, the stress that would come with being a GM. If you're not able to handle the stress, then pass the work to someone else that is available. It's like working in real life, you don't rage at your customers just because you are stressed, you pass the shift to someone else.

people have different standards on what language is offensive to them. Cyndy does not want to hear you say that. You need to adjust, and frankly this isn't something to whine about. Grow up.

Except in real life you get paid to do work. GMs on this server do this voluntarily.

    Can't compare the two.

So instead of whining about a petty situation, be grateful that people spend their time to try and make your in-game experience as good as possible.

Asking someone to "mind their language" is perfectly alright as a service provider to their customers in situations of disagreement, it's barely a rage -_- please grow up and stop thinking so highly of yourself.

Edit: oh I'm sorry it's "PLEASE mind your language".

Not even a valid comparison. I get paid to work I don't get paid to get disrespected every second by players who think I owe them something. Again, what you ~gm'd wasn't even something we can help you with, at all.

Also, she raged at you? Seems like she politely asked you to mind your language

I'm not thinking highly of myself. I'm just providing a feedback of what I think is considered as bad customer service. If this is what we're gonna expect what someone is stressed out, then what happens to quality?

I'm a mechanic, you come at me with some dumbass question or remark I will rage on your ass. Customer or not. What she said was polite, not everyone is.

If you want the equivalent of "customer service" for your additional EXP loss, go consult Captain Latanica instead, he was your suspected culprit, not the GMs.

People use ~gm to ask a question. If I spammed ~gm with the same question, I'll agree it's my fault. But at the same time, it's not uncommon for GMs to not respond to the reports from ~gm if they think it's not something important to attend to.

And that is another baseless accusatory statement yet again. Please learn how to stick to your argument and argue rationally so you can help your own case and credibility.
