Did you install vmwaretools?

 

Yes, but i had to download it separately instead of it automatically installing. Just like @Blasphemy did.

 

Try and see if there's an update for those tools.

 

There is an update... but autoupdater won't work... guess i need to redownload/install.

 

You need to update VMware tools in order to run MapleRoyals.

 

Thanks for your help... i solved my issue where i couldn't update VMware tools using this guide:

After successful update the problem persists.

It fixed itself!!! O_O
well, i just let the OS install all the updates and the next time i tried to run MS on VMWare it worked!!!

I've been having trouble staying connected while bossing while on VMware. Is there a difference between using XP, Win7, or Win8 as the VM OS?

Would switching to the secondary GPU on a Mac (in my case an Intel HD Graphics 5000) prevent Mac users from disconnecting at bosses? Is the main culprit simply Nvidia graphics cards?

 

Hi! I've been staring at this guide for far too long haha, I've just one question as a Mac user. Is there any additional benefit to running Royals through VMWare on Parallels, as compared to just running the Windows client on Parallels directly? My friend's told me there's no additional benefit but the most she's done in terms of boss runs is Zak, would Horntail benefit from virtual-window-ception? Thanks

Hey guys, sorry I'm late to the party. I've just installed VMware and gotten Royals to work and everything. The only problem is that my FPS is really volatile. At best it's in the upper 80s, while sometimes it drops to the lower 20s.

This is when I'm just idling without using any skills, the frame rate is at 83.25.

This is when I open the guild page, for some reason that slows down the frame rate to 22.76.

I haven't tried bossing yet, but when I alone use skills the FPS will drop by 10 or 20. I've ventured into FM CH1, but there's no huge drop in the FPS. I'm a bit scared to try bossing, all of the skills being used might just kill the client completely.

If anyone has any tips on how to fix this, they would be much appreciated.

It's a known problem with APQ in this version of maplestory, what you need to do is close the client open task manager and end task there then start again.

 

I've tested it in other places, and I still get the same result. I actually was able to do a zak run without DCing, though my FPS was ranging from 12-4x during the whole run. In fact, if I'm in some random map (non-Amoria map) and there are lots of skills being used, my FPS takes a huge hit.

 

Sounds more like you have a bad cpu or something cause i have 200+ fps.

I did get a lot of fps problems at boss runs when using VMware workstation.
With Vmware player it worked perfect.
