I think all the items would potentially overflow the market and for one agree on the simple deletion of the names / accounts would be best that's just me
So the reasons against this I'm seeing are it doesn't feel right, what if the items are illigit, we don't need a meso sink, making perfect stuff is easy enough, and it could over flow the market. These reasons seem incredibly arbitrary and easy to combat with minimal effort. First, we do and always will need meso sinks. In any game where money is almost literally falling from the sky measures to curb rapid inflation are necessary. To say that we don't need any more ignores the severe amounts of inflation that has occurred since just six months ago. Sure, doing too much would be harmful for the economy and some inflation is definitely necessary, but this would hardly be large enough to do any economic harm. As for worrying about illegitimate items, those can be controlled for very easily, the staff would just have to look at ban reasons and compare the items against those and the development of the character. A level 70 with godly equips immediately raises some red flags, or a high leveled character who was banned for hacking or duping or botting. Now if someone was banned by the three-strikes rules those items are less likely to be illegitimate. The items would only overflow the market if the staff puts too many up for auction within a small time frame, I wouldn't advocate for more than one auction a month, once every two months might be more ideal. This problem is easily fixable by implementation. And for the notion that making perfect items is easy enough, who says the items auctioned off are automatically perfect items? Many, if this idea is implemented, will not be. As for making perfect items, it really isn't that easy, especially considering the skyrocketing price for white scrolls. When I quit Royals around last September white scrolls were selling for around 200m. I've logged in every few months since then and the price is just steadily going up; in December they were nearly 300m, May 350m. The only reason they haven't gotten more expensive this summer is the influx of players and thus white scrolls keeping the price down. (Also partially the reason chaos scrolls are dropping.) Same thing happened last summer when we had a large influx of players. Back to the point, making perfect items is increasingly difficult and requires many hours making money that most people don't have. Finally I'd like to make a suggestion in case this is implemented one day. Along with the auctions, why not give some of these items out as prizes for winning events? This kind of goes along with the raffle idea or egalitarianism, giving everyone a shot to get one of these items, not just the super rich. Of course they shouldn't be given out every event, but just every once in a while as a special treat.
If there is any worry about items overflowing and effecting the economy, would it be possible for the Admins to make the items untradable once they have been received by the Player who wins them? This way, it just acts as a prize. I also still want a raffle rather than an auction. Maybe set a level 120 requirement to enter the raffle as well? If we are able to make the items untradable, then it would make more sense if we limited them to players which have shown a level of commitment to the game. By doing this, it gives the whole Royals community the chance to win a nice end-game equip (Still assuming for godly items) rather than just the rich a chance to buy items which they may just be doing to resell later.
What's to stop people from signing up a mule for the raffle? Something that doesn't require too much work from the staff because we all know they're lazy.
1) The level 120 limit. Many mules don't reach that level. 2) If the item is untradable, why be a dick and let it rot on a mule? (Hopefully people understand this) EDIT: Also an extension of this idea: Say someone wins a 15atk SCG that they use for a couple months. Now they're pro and rich and buy themselves a nice 16+ Atk glove. We could open a forum which would allow that glove to be re-raffled to the community. This way, the imperfect items wouldn't be a waste.
I think this is a fun idea, especially if the items are given away occasionally under events as untradeables!
