Hi, I started playing MapleRoyals and as you know it is just like the old MapleStory. I realized that today if you are a magician on the new MapleStory you should upgrade only the INT, but I remember that you had to upgrade LUK also before.. So what should I do? How to upgrade my stats? In the past I made my LUK 3 points above my current level and spent the other points on INT which is gives the power to my mage. Is it right to do this? Or there is a change at level 30? And I don't know where to buy the beginner's guide to Yoona's Shopping Guide.. I have a blue book in my inventory but I don't know how to solve this quest. By the way I am making an ice mage. Thanks for helpers
I wouldn't bother with LUK at all, just go pure INT. Utilize maple weapons and elemental wands. It will mean you're sitting in bathrobes for the rest of your life though Yoona's Shopping Guide is in the Cash Shop for 1 meso, I believe.
Level 8 wand > Lvl 35 Maple Staff > Lvl 43 Maple Lama Staff > Lvl 64 Maple Wisdom Staff/ Maple Shine wand > Lvl 130 Ele wand 5/6/7. Get Int bathrobe. 20~60 int++ (60 int is a perfected robe though)
Wow.. I am sure you are saying right things but I don't understand.. What is Maple Staff? And where can I get an INT bathrobe? And what about the stats? How many points on LUK and how many points on INT? Please answer all the questions because I think you are a specialist for magicians and I don't want to keep leveling up without upgrading my stats..
Here's my response to those who suggest adding Luk: There's been a debate on whether going the traditional route of adding Luk to wear higher tier weapons and armors is better than going Luk-less and stick with only weapons and armors that require no Luk, but still give a sizable amount of Magic Attack and Int. I'm going to give my side of this argument, but feel free to choose one over the other for whatever reason you may have. I believe going Luk-less is the better choice between the two. Why? I'm going to prove my stance by debunking common claims: While this is true, most of them also require a bunch of Luk. Take, for example, Elemental Staves 5-8. They have extremely high Magic Attack, but with an extremely high Luk requirement to wield them. 1 Int equals 1 Magic Attack whereas 1 Luk doesn't increase Magic Attack at all so we can just subtract the Luk requirement from the Magic Attack and we'll get the actual value of the Staves itself. Of course, you will have equipment that will add Luk, but it's not going to be enough to even consider the higher level weapons. Again, true, however let's not forget that Luk-less Mages will also have a good amount of Luk from equips such as Zakum Helmets and Horntail Necklaces. With those Luk boosts, Luk-less Mages have access to lower tier Luk Mage equips that also play a role into the Godly System without having to put a single point into Luk. Weapon defense doesn't matter much when you're thinking long term. Most of the monsters hit high on you whether you have a lot of weapon defense or not. The armor pieces that arguably gives the most weapon defense are Zakum Helmets and Horntail Necklaces which both are Luk-less.
I don't have so much money to buy weapons or equipment like Zakum Helmet.. So I prefer to be a normal mage not a LUK-less.. So if I choose this way how to upgrade my stats? 3 points of LUK above my current level and the rest on INT? Or this is until level 30 and then it changes?
So how will I be able to wear weapons and clothing if my LUK is stuck on 4? Sorry if I am bothering you.. I want to understand
^ You do not need to add LUK cause it's not helpful to a Cleric. You only want to add Int. A maple staff is a Maple weapon. Either merch & buy an int bathrobe OR make your own. You don't really need it now, you can wait till just before end game. (for your robe) Once you hit 4th job and will able to 2 hit skeles or other leeching spots, you can sell leech and get your main income there. Merching during the low level includes, Selling AP resets for 8~9m, TP rock for 2m each. Gacha unlocks at level 50, gacha either at Mushroom Shrine (30% scrolls) or NLC (White Scroll). Check the FM daily for price scrolls or look up the scroll price guide. Just keep in mind that INT gears/scrolls are quite costly so do not sell for cheap.
OK, and where can I get staff weapons? Just buying from the FM? or from some quests? and how do I make an INT bathrobe my own? I don't have a lot of mesos..
Either buy them from the Free Market or get them as a monster drop. Usually people don't start off with an Int bathrobe. Make some mesos and buy one for cheap or try and scroll your own by passing a 10% scroll and finishing it off with 100%. You should be able to make a 14 Int bathrobe by spending less than 120m. If you're curious on a certain drop, search up the item in question by using the MapleRoyals database: http://library.royals.ms/
OK. You guys helped me a lot. I will upgrade only INT And about the bathrobe, I know how to earn it (I think), but I have to learn how to make it an INT bathrobe with scrolls. But man - 120M? How do I get such an amount of mesos? And what about the other clothing? What should I wear? All the clothing for mage requires LUK, so what to do?
For my low level mage, I wear: Green Bandana Bathrobe Work Gloves Yellow Snowshoe Maple Shield Maple Staff Level 15 Earrings That should cover most of your standard equips. Keep in mind that all my items are scrolled with Int/Magic Attack.
As a luk mage, Lukless is cheaper and better for all levels except ~85-130 and potentially 163+ if you have SUPER EXTREMELY GODLY gear. BUT if you have said gear, which even I don't have, you will be a bit better.
OK I decided to be a LUK-less And about your clothing, if I wear them without them scrolled it is good also? And should I have the bathrobe without it scrolled at first? I think I need to level up and understand how to do it first. And what do you wear for a higher level?
Doesn't matter if you wear them clean or not. You should concentrate on your weapon first because it gives you the most magic per scroll. After you're satisfied with your weapon, work on your earring, then focus on your overall and save money for a Zakum Helmet. Higher level gear is pretty much the same thing. At level 199, I'm still using a bathrobe, Work Gloves, level 15 earring, Yellow Snowshoe and Maple Shield. Only thing that changes is your Wand and a potential Horntail Necklace after level 120.
