Question About Stats for Magician + A Beginners' Mission

So you get the maple staff from monsters as well? If so I have to try and get weapons for a long time, right? And I don't need to use scrolls on each weapon, do I?

And by the way, how should I upgrade my skills? From a build or should I upgrade them myself? I am planning to make my mage an Ice Mage

 

This is how I did my lukless cleric in the beginning:
I just used the wand you get for free from Grendel until I got a maple staff. You get lvl 35 Maple staff from Ligators (the crocodiles in the swamps in Kerning), scroll it with 100% scrolls that you can buy from NPCs (you are only gonna use that staff for 7 levels). You can also find an earring and scroll it with 100% scrolls from NPC until you can afford something better. Then you can hunt for lvl 42 Maple Lama Staff from Horny Mushrooms or buy a staff from FM. I would scroll with at least one or two 10% first and then 60% for the rest. Just toss it if it fails too much, since Lama staffs aren't that hard to get.

For money I sold AP resets until lvl 50, then I gachaed on Mushroom Shrine and sold the dark scrolls and chaos scroll i got.

Edit: I forgot, you should also scroll your first wooden wand with 100% scrolls from NPC.

And when you say scroll you refer to an INT scroll right?

By the but, aren't NPCs the "people of the game" who give missions and staff like that? How can I get scrolls from them?

some npc's sell useful 100% scrolls for cheap. el moth gives the staff 100% you're gonna need, and also earring int 100%.

why has no one mentioned the white doros robe? an above average zhelm + a depstar can easily get you to the 25 luk requirement without requiring you to add into luk at all. they're easily farmable too at jr wraiths. I get tons of +6 -> +8, occasionally a +9, int robes just from killing them on the side while bfing. idk, i think it's pretty worth it, not to mention they aren't expensive if you don't want to farm for them either.

 

So I need to scroll with INT or magic ATK or something else?

Sorry I didn't understand you well.. What do you mean? Do I need a white doros robe? I'd rather have a bathrobe, don't I?

 

it's purely my opinion, I personally think the doros robe is a direct upgrade from a bathrobe when you reach lvl 50. for a low lvled mage, a robe is obviously the choice but the doros robe is worth considering. it's not hard to get to lvl 50. might take a new player a bit of funding to acquire a helm and depstar though. I guess that's what the other guys are taking into consideration.

 

i tried something a bit different; the level 28 top/bottom, because when perfect they can add up to 15 total int clean, much higher than a clean doros robe. my reasoning was that since shield luk scrolls are cheap and i wasnt getting a ma shield anytime soon, i could go for a luk shield for a bit to equip them.

that being said it was a terrible idea, they took way too long to farm, doros robe is probs the way to go.

 

Can you please teach me how to use scrolls on equipment?
What scrolls should I use? And if I can buy 100% INT scrolls from El Moth, I can use 7 scrolls on an earring and I'll have a perfect equipment, can't I? or I need to make that earring to be with INT on him.. how to do it?

Now after someone taught me about scrolls I have an idea what they are.
So you suggest me to take a doros robe or a top& bottom after I get a LUK shield?

Where did you find dark scrolls on Mushroom Shrine?
And about the Lama Staff, I won't stay with it for a very long time, will I? So why should I upgrade and try so hard for this? Or I should do it for a higher level staff?
