I think we should have another means of getting Infinity 10 and any other level 10 skill books that come from El Nath PQ. The reason I say this is because at the moment we have only 3 warriors above level 120. One of them quit, so lets bring that down to 2. In order to get Infinity you need a 4th job warrior who is doing his or her Stance quest - once he/she has stance they can no longer enter the "PQ", which leaves us little mages with no way in to get our skill book. Maybe if the server was a little bigger, or once the warrior population grows it would be feasible, however right now most of us are stuck without the skill due to there literally being no one who can start the quest for us. Mages also out number warriors by a fairly large amount, so even when a few more warriors hit 4th job it's still going to be pretty hard to get a warrior who hasn't just zoomed past and done the quest already in their excitement to get new skills. Perhaps I'm just sour, but I do think that since it's a level 10 book we shouldn't be disadvantaged by not being able to get it due to the size of the server. Maybe make the PQ accessibly by anyone 120+, not just a stanceless warrior? Not sure if that is possible due to it not really being a real PQ, more just part of the warrior quest line.
I see your point but at the same time, doesn't this encourage there to be a balance among classes? By forcing you to only be able to accomplish the quest with a Stanceless Warrior, it is encouraging more warriors to level and get to that role so they can serve a purpose. It also encourages you, the one looking to get Infinity to train with Warriors and help them level so that they can help you out.
It doesn't encourage warriors to level up to serve a purpose because they do not require us to get stance, only we require them. I personally don't think it promotes balance among classes either - people will still always play what they enjoy. I enjoy my Bishop and I don't think it should be such an unobtainable task to get a level 10 skill just because not many people chose to play a warrior. This server is much smaller than the official servers and what was already a sometimes difficult task there is now almost impossible.
Non of the El nath PQ skills are hardly essential till you are level 160. So I don't see the problem of having it GMS-like. It brings back the nostalgia for me. But of course, this is only my pov.
They're not essential, but regardless I'd still like to be able to acquire all my job skills. Even once I'm 160 (currently 140) there will still be a shortage of warriors to mages. There are plenty of low level mages coming up the ranks too who will need a warrior, and there just isn't enough of them in this server.
I think the bolded part is enough to promote cooperation across classes. It's not really fair for a mage to beg someone to level up/create a warrior just for a job skill quest.. I believe that the original GMS coded this due to two reasons: 1)Bishops party players of other jobs so getting friends to help would be fairly easy 2)GMS has a massive player base- every other day there was a warrior hitting 120. Although I think that the 1st should apply in Royals, the 2nd doesn't really apply; considering that it's hard enough finding a 4th job warrior, let alone a 4th job warrior who didn't complete the Stance skillbook quest. As bella said- It's just not practical since most people play warriors not to help fellow mages but rather for their own enjoyment I don't really see how finding, befriending and training a fellow warrior to hit 4th job just for a skillbook promotes balance more. Instead, it feels more like an inconvenience to mages... Of course, I understand the need for balance amongst classes (I remember the Bishop problem prewipe), but I think HTPQ for Genesis, 4x exp and the normal spawn for mobs already accomplish this. Also, V62 is originally meant to favour Bishops :> As such: I put this forward: Perhaps make the PQ accessible to all classes (so it's possible for anyone to help a mage who requires infinity), or maybe extend the restriction to allow warriors who have already done the Stance quest to reenter- that way if someone activated the quest late and has 4th job warrior friends who all did the Stance preq beforehand, said late person would still be able to obtain infinity- instead of finding someone else new altogether. Just a suggestion
