You really have to chill with the ban appealing ... it's really frustrating to being banned for jokes you made, i smegad once "hail the 3rd reich fuhrer",and im a jew myself, but i can understand that a bit ... but now i was banned for saying nigglet, its so obvious that i didnt try to abuse him,i was even saying "have my kids man"... i fell like the ban for harassment is way too strict... i try to enjoy the game but i make some parodical jokes ,its like putting a stand up artist in jail for laughing at women or whatever... i dont say im as funny as a stand up artist and maple royals is not a comedy club .. but it's really putting me down those bans i get for my jokes...
No, actually, you need to learn to act mature and not say stupid things that are borderline. We've made it quite clear what's acceptable and what's not and if you stupidly decide to try and skirt the rules, you may find yourself getting banned.
Why don't you just read the rules? If you looked at the rules at all you would have seen that saying "nigglet" in all chat is a bannable offense on this server. Don't use racial or homophobic slurs in all chat or smegas. We really don't care what kind of language you use in buddy chat with your friends. I think you should read this post http://royals.ms/forum/threads/some-clarity.2835/ Before you say anything in all chat or smegas think to yourself "is this the type of language I would say out loud to strangers"? I mean, would you really go walking around in real life calling people "nigglets"? It's one thing to make jokes to your friends but shouting racial, sexual or ethnic slurs out loud to strangers is just unacceptable. We want everyone to feel comfortable playing our game. We don't want to make it so that people can just run around acting like keyboard warriors and turning the community cancerous. Just keep what should be private conversations private.
talking with your friends at the BL chat when you are all hanging out together in the fm is kind of weird, but you are actually right, sorry im just mad at how stupid i act sometimes..
Well, given the circumstances, there's been a very fine line between the community and GMs regarding free speech. While some of us think it's okay to dick around and act as we normally would, others would disagree, which is why I could respect the GMs decision to take action. However, I do think the system is flawed, in more than just one way. Maybe things will change over time, but for now, things are the way they are because they want a healthy community. Even though I disagree in some aspects, they've been doing a pretty good job keeping up with their expectations. So if it ain't broken, don't trash it. Instead, I'd suggest offering a solution about how to help improve the system, like making this specific rule more aware to the public. (ie. adding a Maple Tip or instead of an instaban just autoblock the message with a warning)
Yes because banning people is the very reason anyone becomes a GM. It's obviously a GMs goal to ban as many people as possible.
"You didn't meet your ban quota this month. I'm sorry but you're no longer on staff." OT: not everyone has the same humor as you. People get affended by the smallest things. While I do agree that the staff does have some very strict rules, they do help keep the community clean and mature.
Part of being mature is also knowing how to deal with your own problems, which people here clearly aren't capable of. Proof.
I completely agree. 50-70% of the people reported was because they didn't know how to communicate with each other. (Or didn't know how to simply ignore someone) But this then goes into the part of what rules are more lenient than others which the staff does not want to do. They're reading it basically black and white as to keep consistency. I can go on and on about certain cases as to why someone shouldn't have been banned because xx could have just ignored yy and gone on with their lives but that isn't happening. People are going to report people just because someone called them a bitch. If anything's going to change, it needs to be how the harassment rule is worded. If someone calls you a bitch once or twice, heck even 5 times. Ignore them. Add them to the black list (if it works). Go on with your life. This is my suggestion for rule 8 (Also as a side note, why is obscene repeated twice in the original? @Matt @John) -edit- I just realized how far I veered off the original topic.
Agreed but remember, it's easier to say "I'm offended you must change" rather than "oh I didn't like what you just said I'll stop listening to you and get on with my own life..."
